Hello--most honest and reasonably priced place that does good work for a woman to take her car to for maintenance? Just went to get my state inspection done and walked...

Christian Brothers on 407,,,the owners go to my church,,they will treat you well!
Jim K. replied:
Sounds like they were just trying to drum up business. They did the inspection so they weren't trying to railroad you into anything, just trying to get some business, inspections don't keep their doors open.:) There are a few places I'd trust, some listed, although some aremore specialized for certain cars. 5 th Gear for example, for German's. I've used them for quite a bit. For general things, Porter Tire in Old Town doesn't get mentioned very often but I'd trust Bill and his crew completely. The place has been around for more years that most of us have been.

Recommendations for oil change. Just moved here. I have an Infiniti and don't really want to go to the dealership. Thanks
Jennifer H. replied:
I would stay away from Kwik Kar on Cross Timbers (not sure about the other locations). Not only did it cost 3 x that at the dealership, the guy at the desk was super rude and told me that a filter cap was missing and needed to be replaced asap. I was in a hurry so left and when my husband came home he checked and there was nothing missing. Almost immediately after going there, my check engine light came on and the dealership said that wherever I got my oil change from must have tripped the sensor. Long story short, will not go there again!
Ben H. replied:
The new Grubbs Infiniti in Grapevine is very nice. You can schedule an appointment there, and the waiting area is incredible. Soda machine, espresso machine, food bar, TVs, computers and free wifi. The dealership is very close, and right by the airport in grapevine.

Kwik Kar on 2499

We always go to Sewell Infiniti in Dallas. Their customer service is over the top excellent. They have never pushed anything on me. Rental cars are wonderful and when you drive in the bay (with the rental) the RFID chip triggers the porter to get your car, run it through the wash and vacuum. Never have to wait. Dogs are allowed and my service guy knows their names (we have taken 2 of our 4) and has treats and pup cups for them. There are two technicians that work on my car, so they know me and my vehicle well. If I hear something off, they drive it with me to hear it too (most of its in my mind). The drive to me is worth it and I can request a rental and go have lunch with my Dallas buddies.
Kimberly P. replied:
Oh Brad Ogle is my service guy at grapevine Infiniti. He is top notch
Sara D. replied:
If you do go to the dealership, Sewell Infiniti in Dallas is by far the best in the area. Hard to beat their outstanding customer service.
Suzi P. replied:
Grubbs Infiniti just opened a brand new dealership in our back door at Grapevine (121@Texan Trail). Ask for service advisor Cris Zumora. He took care of me for years at Mercedes Benz. Couldn't ask for a better service rep!
Does anyone have recommendations for an auto repair shop? I really just need an oil change and a headlight changed. May need something else coming up pretty soon though.
Just once I'd like to go get an oil change and not have somebody come out and tell me my air filter is bad..my belts will need replaced soon...my fluids need flushed......
Any recommendations for a place to get an oil change that does not take an hour?
Greg D. replied:
Gregory Harper has a great point. Todays vehicles need the CORRECT oil and filter for everything to operate properly. Example is the oil life monitor in most new cars. These are not simple timers but detailed algorithms that only function properly when the RIGHT parts are used. The downside to longer intervals is just what Greg mentions, less eyes looking your car over for nails in tires, leaks, safety items, etc. So that means when you DO take it in, its a pretty darn good idea to have someone reputable look it over real good. I have seen twigs lodged up around the ONE belt that runs all accessories, nails/bolts in tires, and not to mention the horrible possibility of a rodent munchin away on wiring, all on vehicles that looked brand new and were. Its just not right to get any old oil and filter by any old backyard mechanic like it used to be. Most quickie stop places will tell ya they use the factory oil, but it all comes from the same tank out back. Spend the extra 30 minutes and $20 and take it to someone that uses the right stuff for your car.
FIXED! Thank you.. There is a switch, never would have thought. Seen it a 100 times and didn't know what it did.
Thank you
We have a regular wall type plug in the suv...
