The Sewing Room 301 E Swallow Rd unit b, Fort Collins, CO 80525 (970) 225-6927https://goo.gl/maps/kZCqpo5Q44 ixHzHr6 They were great for me, but all I had done was pant leg taken in. Great reviews though.

I was pretty happy with my suit from Fort Collins Tailor and Alterations, 2224 S College Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80525. I had some pants taken in, same with jacket. Both fit so much better now.

Boulder Custom Tailoring. It’s in Boulder (obvi) not Fort Collins BUT this guy is amazing. I’ve had him do a couple bridesmaid dresses, a couple suits, and a bunch of men’s clothing like slacks/jeans and he does excellent work. It’s a family business too and they are very competitively priced.

This question comes up quite often. [Here](http://www.reddit.com/r/FortCollins/search?q=tailor&restrict_sr=on) is a quick search for the term 'tailor'. There were several good replies if I remember correctly.

I didn't read other replies, so if this redundant, sorry. several of my friends and I used terry garrison who owns morning star sewing. her prices were incredibly reasonable and she did a great job: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Morning-Star-Custom-Sewing/159875304029506
Does anyone know of a good inexpensive seamstress in town? I need a bridesmaid dress brought up a little bit.

Alchemy sewing will be the best but she's usually booked up. I had a few shirts tailored at the Tailoring Palace, not sure if they do wedding dresses but they were inexpensive and fast with my shirts

Carol Meyers with Mountain Stitchery is another possibility. She is the one who does all the tailoring for Macys. She does quality work for a reasonable price but she can get busy too. She may also know some other places to try.

My wife used the sewing room for her wedding dress and she was happy. It was near the mall if I remember right.

Anyone know a good (and not expensive) tailor/seamstress in Fort Collins?
Dani B. replied:
I used the Alteration Shop for my wedding dress, a bridesmaid dress, and for Andy's wedding suit. They did a great job on Andy's suit--just make sure you tell them exactly what you want (as with any place I suppose). Andy took a different suit to place in Old Town and they did a TERRIBLE job--twice. I'm not sure what it was called but be careful! http://www.thealterationshop.net/
Sarah W. replied:
I second Dani's recommendation. The Alteration Shop, besides being terribly convenient for us at two blocks away, was great. But they can be pretty busy too.
Our daughter does all her own sewing and other items. You might want to give her a call and tell her I recommended you contact her. She is here in Fort Collins and can probably handle anything you might have. - Nikki Wasinger(970) 215-5558.

Joe's Auto Upholstery is one of the best kept secrets in old town. I've had them repair numerous bags and they always charge me less than $20. Just last month I had them re-sew a zipper and it took him **one day** and he charged me a cool $5. 247 Linden St, Fort Collins, CO 80524 (970) 482-4085
ducttapelarry replied:
Sadly, that's not entirely out of the price range you might run into. There are a few shoe stores in Loveland that can do this repair as well but I'm not sure of the name.

There is a great sewing place about 2 blocks north of Laurel, about 4 blocks west of College Ave, in a house on the north / west corner of that intersection... I'm terrible with street names; they did a great job on some of my moto pants. Expect to be told that they can get to it in a couple of weeks.

Amateur seamstress here, I have a few questions:
Is your backpack made of leather? Or is it a really thick canvas or other dense material? A regular sewing machine might have trouble stitching that. It might require an industrial machine or a special needle at the least.
Is the zipper itself broken or is it just the stitching holding it in that is the problem?
If it's the stitching, did the material in the backback break down/tear or give out at all?
A difficult fabric/leather and having to replace the actual zipper can really affect the price and who can do it for you. And if the material of your backpack is compromised, that can add to the difficulty as well since it will need to be either patched or stitched in a different place than the original zipper.
I'd be willing to look at it myself if you have a photo or refer you to my network of teachers and sewing contacts if It isn't something I can do.
Abaddon_4_Dictator replied:
What's wrong with it? If it doesn't need to be sewn back on and is a zipper problem, I've found some good info and fixed my own.
Can anyone recommend a good Fort Collins tailor to repair (patch or sew) a tear on a gore-tex jacket?
Liesbeth L. replied:
I only have used the sewing room a few times for dresses and they were great. I would send them an email to see if they work with that material at all. http://thesewingroomfc.com
