I used care.com and had great results I would make sure background check has been done because some have and some haven't. Good luck

Tracy C. replied:
I personally haven't used care.com but know numerous people who have and they've all raved about it.

I have used care.com and have had great success!!! Call me if you want to chat about it!!
Suggestions for a homeschool preschool course? Where could I get cheap or used curriculum? I'm only planning on homeschooling for preschool.
Courtney F. replied:
I agree with Autumn! As a former preschool teacher, I see no reason for children to be doing worksheets or any type of pre-packaged curriculum. Instead, offer your child "invitations to play" by setting out interesting materials for your child to explore. There are some super preschool and mommy blogs out there that can provide inspiration. My favorite is teachpreschool.org.
Heather D. replied:
I bought curriculum off of preschoolpalace.org. 10 dollars for a whole school year that they plan out day to day
Heather D. replied:
They have really cool ideas of faith based stuff on dltkkids.com
Ashley K. replied:
I agree about no curriculum needed, but if you want some guidance www.abcjesuslovesme.com has lots of helpful info and free curriculum.
Has anyone ever been or currently take their kids to Rainbow Daycare/Preschool off Dupont? Also, any recommendations for a great in-home daycare would be welcome! Need...
Tammy W. replied:
I know you're asking for personal referrals (the best), but in case you or friends need it, Dept. of Social Services has this website for childcare: http://www.ccld.ca.gov/pg411.htm. Also has a link to contact regional and county offices to look at files of the daycares.
Katie E. replied:
The waiting list stink. I had Logan on all them and by referral I found an in home daycare that I love. But, sadly she isn't taking any new kids till appx. Aug. try www.in.gov under family and health. On family and health page you will be able to click on an area for child care. This site has childcare settings that are registered. Rainbow is a level 1 daycare which means that meet certain state standards. They are working to become a level 4 daycare. Level 4 is the highest ranking.
Does anyone have a good preschool recommendation? I was to late for the one i wanted, and am afraid i may be to late for others.

Central Lutheran preschool in New Haven. 493-2502. Ask for Kevin.
Chrisula K. replied:
Messiah Lutheran. Good Shepard is good too. My sister-in-law sent her 3 kids there but said she was very impressed with messiah Lutheran when Zoe went there. Zoe absolutely loved it. My neice now goes there.
Donna G. replied:
You can also check Faith Baptist on Trier Rd. It is $95 a month and they do so much with the kids the age starts at 2. We send Taylor there Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30-11:05. They also have other days and times.
Preschool question! Searching for a preschool is more difficult than I expected!! We just moved to Fort Wayne not too long ago (right by Auburn and DuPont), so I've...

Fort Wayne is known as "The City of Churches" (and bars), so I don't doubt that most options are faith based. I would agree that all of the options listed are good options. Good luck to you and welcome to The Fort!
Carrie P. replied:
Oak Farm in Avilla hands down. People move from all over the US to send their kids to school there! Very pricey but amazing!

Bunche did such an awesome job at instilling that lifetime love of learning in my kids from such an early age, and I credit their amazing math manipulatives and activities for their strong math ability. I have also heard good things about Whitney Young. It's very easy to set up observations at both schools...check them out! enjoy that age right now...priceless.

I love Kiddie Academy on the NW side. They have webcams in the rooms so you can log on and see what your kids are up to!
Dawn E. replied:
Everyone I know goes to Sonshine Preschool on Illinois Road. I've had a dozen parents rave about it. I can't remember the exact cost but it was less than $200 per month for two half-days (2.5 hours) a week.

Pine Hills Learning Place is on Dupont and Coldwater and is AMAZING! They have won Best Daycare/Preschool in Ft Wayne 9 years in a row. They are very difficult to get into though. They are open from 6-6 M-F and absolutely love on your kids. They are curriculum based and even have private full day Kindergarden. My Daughter has a dairy allergy and they are so careful with her and have prepared her meals separately for many years.
Ashley S. replied:
I was going to say Pine Hills (other friends kids have gone there)
