Just Google Dr Whitman. He's in Dallas.
David C. replied:
Myself, my wife, and 2 of my best friends have all gone to Klieman/Evangelista in Arlington. Pricing was awesome, and we didn't feel like a assembly line. I mention the assembly line aspect because of Dr. Booth in Plano.
David C. replied:
Dr Welding in Highland Village is who we went through to get connected with Klieman/Evangelista
Frank B. replied:
Sheila Howard Stoelting, I had implanted lenses, used Dr. Snook, a very good surgeon. He is a serious photographer so he knows about being "in focus." I'm a photojournalist. http://northdallaseye.com/all-doctors-list/dr-russell-snook/
Jennifer D. replied:
Stay away from Dr. Booth. Hubtard and I went to Tylock and had great results! Would do it all over in a heart beat.
Jeanette M. replied:
My husband & I both went to Dr. Boothe. I prefer "experience" and quality work. Yes, you are treated as if on an assembly line, but let's face it. . .we all do this one way or another with our own work or projects.

I used Flex Spending. Worked out great.
Dana M. replied:
There is a reason Dr Boothe has a heard of people. Because he is good. Almost 10 years now and my vision is still very good. Was headed for trifocals and he fixed that problem.
Wednesday T. replied:
My husband and I had it done about 5 years ago by Dr. Tylock. We had a good experience and have not had any problems since.
Tracy M. replied:
I went to Tylock. I can share my story if you PM me. I had great success. http://www.tylock.com/

My husband and 2 good friends went to Clearview in Southlake. I'm considering Clearview for next year. In the past I've recommended Cornea Associates of Texas. You might as well see a Dr. a trained in cornea speciality if you're going to have surgery on your corneas.... just a thought. A non-cornea specialist can do your lasik. But, would you want them to? It's a question I'm considering myself currently.
Looking for a LASIK surgeon. Closer to home the better. Bonus points if it's not one of the big, doc in a box LASIK places.
Amber M. replied:
Dr. Bowman did LASIK for my husband's eyes back in 2007, and he sees better than he ever did! He came out of that procedure seeing lines in the brick on buildings from the highway, single leaves in trees from the road, and everything just a whole lot clearer. We highly recommend their practice -- so personal and thorough and professional. We were referred to them by a close friend whose father is a Dr. in Dallas. Not like some of the other popular LASIK clinics who get you in and out like cattle.... http://www.corneatexas.com/about/dr-c-bradley-bowman
Missy L. replied:
I see Dr. Blake Hughes in Hurst. They don't do LASIK surgery, but the surgeon they referred me to was great. All of my pre- and post-surgical appointments were still handled by my regular doctor. Perhaps your optometrist does something similar?
Looking to get LASIK surgery. Any advise or recommendations out there?

Vincent F. replied:
I had LASIK done as one of the last test trials before they got FDA approval and it was still considered experimental. I *personally* recommend it, but only with the following caveats: yes, you *may* get dry eye syndrome, but I personally didn't get that until years later, and it may not even be related now as I have allergies. Also, yes, as your eyes age you may need reading glasses. I'm starting to. No surgery is a heal-all for the process of aging. I accepted that as a natural occurrence and the consequences therein. And biggest of all, do not go cheap or unknown. Mine was done at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in OKC when I was 28 [I lived there at the time] and they are considered tops in their field. Now everyone with a shingle can do it. Don't just go for the first or "recommended by a friend." Yes, there can be complications. Read up on them and make an informed decision. Get second opinions from informed individuals with a degree in person, not anonymous internet opinions [which ironically I also am].
Anyone have a Lasik center they can recommend in Dallas? I just need one eye done so cost isn't as much of an issue for me

I have 20/10 vision after seeing Dr Smith at LasikPlus in Plano I would highly recommend. He works with military precision

Check out the M Lasik Center in Richardson. Husband went in 20/800 vision and now has 20/15. Excellent doctor!

Thanks for posting this. I was just about to ask the same thing since I started a new position with an FSA this year and wanted to get out of glasses/contacts. Does anyone know what the going rates are in Dallas for LASIK?

I used Kleiman Evangelista at my eye doctor's recommendation, I went to the Plano location (off the Tollway, near Whiskey Cake) and had an excellent experience. I can't remember the name of the doctor who did the surgery (I could probably look it up, he was really nice but I only met him the day of my surgery), Dr. Evangelista was the one who actually looked at my eye pictures and recommended LASIK over PRK. I believe it was $1800 per eye (three years ago, so could be different now), office staff was great and responsive.

I went to KE Eye Center on Glen Lakes in Dallas last September. The consultation was free and they have an okay credit plan. Weirdest experience of my life but I absolutely wish I had it done sooner - life without corrective lenses & all the costs and hassles associated with them has been fantastic.
Friends- I am admitting defeat. I am forced to get bifocals! Sadly, I am not a candidate for LASIK. Does anyone have a recommendation for an eye dr in the FW or...
Paula N. replied:
Dr. Smith at TSO let's me wear contacts. I only need them for the close up so the contacts are concentric circles. I really like them so I don't have to search for my 'readers' all of the time!

Don't go to Dr. Boothe. I used LASIK Eye Institute and my eye dr. Was very impressed with my surgeons work, 9 years.
Sondra L. replied:
I also used LASIK Eye Institute. The doc was on fire, had music blaring in surgical room, please let me know if you go there, would love the referral.
Tim S. replied:
Dr. John Doane at Discover Vision Center in KC. 14 years for me and just normal follow ups. Had to go to readers a couple of years ago but I am older than you. I can still see my golf ball go into the woods from 250 yards away, but can't read the scorecard. In my case that is good. Who needs a scorecard anyway?
LASIK??? Yes or No??
Who do you recommend in DFW?
I have had the same prescription for the last 8 years (-2.75)

Ophthalmology Associates of FW Cathy Nelson Abbott has been my mother in laws best friend for years and years. I know half dozen people, family and friends, who have used them. Had excellent treatment, follow up and staff is amazing. My sister in law worked for them as well for years and years.
Alright I'm taking in any and all information and suggestions anyone might have about lasik eye surgery. I'm exhausted of the contacts/glasses struggle.
