LASIK surgery doctor recommendations??? I don't want to go to a dr just because they've got the biggest advertising budget. Obviously I really want a good one. Thanks!!

I loved doctor Nettune from Cornea Associates of Dallas. Great experience. It was 2013...I think the cost was about $1600 per eye (could be a little over or under). I know they gave you a big discount if you mention someone who referred you.

I had lasik this summer at Kleiman Evangelista, and had a great experience. I had terrible astigmatism and had 20/20 a month after! Cost was around $3500

Holly D. replied:
I had mine done 18 years ago at Key Whitman. It was a good experience. I am still close to 20/20 for distance. I just have a slight astigmatism, but not enough to require any correction. I was 29 when I had it done. Was told I’d eventually need reading glasses as I got into my 40’s. This is totally normal and happens to everyone’s eyes eventually as the lens of the eye hardens with age. Just started really needing reading glasses in the last year. Not too bad since I’m almost 48.
Vanessa S. replied:
I used a Clear View in Grapevine and highly recommend them. From setting an appointment, to the pre-op, to the actual day of, it was an outstanding process. I did mind Jan 2010 and I still have perfect Vision. I also return for my annual eye exams that are fully covered by my insurance and they have all my records and tests as comparison. On the day of my surgery, I had asked for something to relax me, and then gave me 1/2 a Valium and I was in and out in 30 minutes. It was pretty surprising and I drove myself to the follow up appointment the next day and had perfect vision and no astigmatism. http://www.clearviewlaservision.com/
Looking to get LASIK done can anyone recommend a good LASIK eye surgeon in North Texas ?????
Elizabeth A. replied:
Stay away from the big name people like Tylock and Whitman that run people through like cattle. Look local- North Dallas Eye Associates has an office in Plano and flower Mound- Dr Snook, Ku, & Elieff.
Lisa K. replied:
Dr. R. Wayne Bowman at UTSouthwestern did mine. Wonderful job. Great reputation.
Mary C. replied:
Julie, I had it done about 10 years ago by Dr Tylock. No issues.... You will love the results!
Jen D. replied:
Dr. Robert Smith with Lasik Plus in Plano did my eyes 5+ yrs ago. The entire process was easy and I never felt like cattle (like I did with just a consult with another well known Dr). The Dr called me the evening before to make sure I was ready and to answer any last minute questions and called me the afternoon/evening of the procedure to make sure I was doing well.
Tracy M. replied:
Dr Tylock
Vanessa S. replied:
LASIK was an awesome process for me. I did it almost 6 years ago this month at Clearview in Southlake (Right off 114). I still have 20/20 in my right eye and a little better in my left eye. Dr. Ryne and his group are just terrific. I still go there to get my regular eye checkup. http://www.clearviewlaservision.com
I used the search tool and came up with a few names for LASIK. I'd love your thoughts on these specifically: Dr. Snook with North Dallas Eye Associates, Kleiman...
Lorne B. replied:
Dr Sidney Gicheru.
Jim S. replied:
Elieff at North Dallas Eye Associates
Sheila S. replied:
My husband, who was legally blind without glasses, used Dr Tylock. He chose mono-vision-- one eye for close, one for far-- and now has 20/25 vision. He could not be happier.
My optometrist has finally cleared me for Lasik eye surgery and I am so excited! Does anyone have any recommendations for not only Doctors who perform this procedure but...
Alicia W. replied:
I went to Dr Labor in Southlake... state of the art facility.
