Dr Aaronson and his office is great, I was never given any problems for denying the flu shot for both of my kids. I don't know if he takes Medicaid though. And they are located off rt 3 in fredricksburg! His number is 540-899-3440. Hope that helps!

I moved to the area 6 mths ago and love love love Dr.Brenda Bradshaw of ABC Pediatrics near mary washington hospital for my little girl. While she is a western medicine physician, she is also supportive of alternative medicine and she does not try to give you an antibiotic unless absolutely needed. She also has a large patient base that is home schooling/ unschooling . Great great great doctor!

We are starting a horse drawn carriage rides business and hopefully we will be running that weekend. It's a great way to see Fredericksburg and learn about its history. As far as dancing goes, for 2 stepping I recommend Hondos. Crossroads usually has mote rock or contemporary music whereas Hondos caters to country. Both are fabulous places to dance! The bat cave is a little drive but worth it. For horseback riding, my daughter works for the best trail ride service in the Hill Country. It is called Cross G Ranch and it's in Pipe Creek,Tx. (about an hour drive). They give rides in one of the most pristine, untouched spots in the country--no houses, no other people, nothing to see for miles but beautiful hills and countryside. Look them up on google. You won't be disappointed!

Grape Creek Winery!

Here's what I recommend: The best and by far most popular winery on 290 is hands down Becker Vineyards. Their wine has been featured at White House dinners, in the governor's mansion, etc. Fbg is special in that you can walk Main with a beer or glass of wine. I recommend hitting up the Brewery for some great local brewed beer and then walking the shops. Since you're going on weekday's, it may be hard to find things going on at night. Hondo's is great food and, if you catch a band, can dance as well. There are ton's of great backroads to drive as well. Willow City Loop is one of the most popular. I'd also recommend taking a drive out to Doss, it's a real pretty drive and home to one of the smallest public school's in Texas. Silvercreek (also on Main) is probably the most active bar at night, but again may close early because it's the middle of the week. As somebody said above, Hilda's has great authentic Mexican food and is super popular. If you're interested in local history, the Vereins Kirche at the Market Platz (middle of Main) is cool, I think entry is like $5 or something like that. Lots of Native American artifacts and a mammoth tusk that was uncovered in the area.
