The hop on hop off bus is great, you cn see the city and get alot of history info. Take the bike cart ride thourgh central park lots of info. It is fun to walk across the Brooklyn bridge but have them take the subway to the first stop in Brooklyn then it is a short walk to the bridge. The circle line tour (the short one) is good but I would not waste time going to the Statue of Liberty. There is a great place called Eatly on 5 th Ave. & 23 rd St. If they want to eat Italian family style go to Tony's on 4

Besides the obvious the Tenement Museum walking tour, Scott's Walking Pizza tour, and eat at Peanut Butter & Company in Greenwich Village

went there with Pamela Eccles-Wakefield and Angie Gordon Britt in 2006 and did pretty typical tourist attraction things. Ellis Island is cool and we saw a couple of broadway plays. LOTS of shopping to do there...

Lower manhattan should be on the list. 9/11 memorial. It's a short walk to Wall Street, trinity church and battery park, where they will have a great view of the Statue of Liberty. I highly recommend a walk across the Brooklyn bridge. There's an amazing view of manhattan from there and it's a cool experience. I have a contact at the Statue of Liberty. If they are interested in visiting I can try to set something up. Let's know. "Eataly"is cool, it across the street from the Flat Iron Building another great landmark. If they go there there is a great fried chicken place called Hill Country Chicken. Amazing food. Dylan's candy shop is cool. I recommend a walk through Central Park. Maybe take the subway up to the 70's and walk south through the park, they will end up at 60 th, which is where the apple store is. There is a cool burger joint called Pop Burgers on the side street of FAO Shwartz (which is next to the apple store. From there you are the north of of 5 th Ave, so a walk to Rockefeller center, st Patricks is easy. ......I could go on.......

Ok, here are my favs....definitely Central Park/Bethesda Fountain as Joel said.. (Had taxi drop us@72 nd /5 th on UES and walked west to fountain). While on UES, go to Dylan's candy store and right down from it is Serendipity on 60 th St. Broadway show, of course. Carmine's is great as per Joel, but big family style portions, Bella Vita is great for pizza in Theater District. I would go to Little Italy and China Town. We always go to Ferrera's for Italian pastries! Statue of Liberty and World Trade Center for sure. It took forever to get to top of Empire State bldg so unless they are fans of Sleepless in Seattle, I say skip it. I liked the double decker bus tour first time we went. I loved going into the NY public Library last time we were there. Hmm, if I think of anything else, will let you know. We always stay at Marriotts due to points.

One more idea, for a hotel if they want to stay off the beaten path the upper west side is great. The Hotel Belleclaire is my favorite.
