Good Morning,
Any travel agents? We have ticked and hotels for Rome but I want to see what kind of tours there are for families with kids & prices.
Any recommendations...

Rob C. replied:
The only tours you really need to do is one of the coliseum/ palatine hill and the Vatican. You can book directly with Vatican for tours by their own employees. Its excellent and the best price. For the coliseum we used anno Domini tours which was well worth the price. Very small tour so we could ask a lot of questions and learned a lot more about what we were seeing. The tour guide was a roman history teacher and she knew her stuff. I shared link to the tour company. Rome is a walking city and most sites and churches are open to public with no charge so we only did those two are arranged tours. So much to see for free! http://www.anno-domini.us/index.htm
Susan B. replied:
Angel Tours Rome has wonderful tour guides for the Vatican, all art or history students studying for advanced degrees. We spent a second day with them.
Anyone know a place that needs Hotel size shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc?
Or where to take coke can tabs?
Kara B. replied:
Studio B in Highland Village collect pop can tabs for the Girl Scouts.
Denise C. replied:
The Salvation Army is very low on shampoo/conditioner etc., this is the perfect time to donate! The tabs can be dropped off at Trinity Presbyterian Church on 5500 Morriss (across the street from Marcus High) as long as you ask them to deliver them to Mrs Terrie, the previous preschool director there. She collects them and donates to St Jude's.
Rachel T. replied:
Ronald McDonald House takes both items
Carey W. replied:
Ronald McDonald house accepts both!
Jordan A. replied:
Ronald McDonald House for sure! They use the pop tabs to recycle in exchange for money to keep the place running
Cari S. replied:
Salvation Army on main st in Old Town Lewisville. They have a huge need for these items and it's local.

I suspect you will stop first evening in Mobile and the Candlewood Suites in downtown Mobile is nice.

We usually stay at the Courtyard by Marriott or Fairfield Inn in Jackson, MS when we drive to Destin.

We usually stop in Jackson but that is on the way to Destin. Not sure if you are further south. I would try a Hilton, Marriot or Embassy Suites. Good luck and be safe!

I think we also stayed at Candlewood in Mobile. If you have time in Mobile, check out the USS Alabama. Pretty cool! www.ussalabama.com
We LOVE Big Cedar Lodge. We go every summer. It is a bit pricier but there is TONS to do for kids and adults. It is about 15 minutes south of Branson proper. You can also check out Big Cedar Wilderness Club (time shares) but a more affordable option while still being able to access all that Big Cedar offers, helps if your dates are flexible. Grand Country is great if you prefer to stay in town. Rooms are a little dated, but my boys loved the water park and pools and there is a great buffet on the property as well as go carts and mini golf (the go carts on the strip, business named "the track", are much better if you are wanting to do that).
Looking for 3+ bedroom Lake house or condo rentals on a lake within 3 hours of DFW area for family vacation this Summer. Suggestions?

Non Flower Mound Question - Going to Vegas for my best friend's bday in Oct. Any suggestions for hotels on the strip or right off the stip for under 250 a night?
Marty M. replied:
Check out vegas.com. Always have hotel comparisons.
Casey C. replied:
Planet Hollywood is good! Cosmopolitan is awesome!
Deanna M. replied:
Just booked a trip to Vegas also. Best value is through Southwest.com vacations. You book the flight/hotel room together. We are paying $530 per person for direct flights and 3 nights at the Cosmopolitan. You choose the hotel you want and flights also.

We just got back from Cabo Wednesday. We stayed at RIU Palace. Had a great time. They were remodeled last year. All inclusive. All ages, a few miles to the marina. $14 to use taxi for 4 to the Marina. Their sister hotel Santa Fe is next door and less expensive. We booked through Applevacations, everything included along with transfers.

I love Cabo! The resort I always went to is not there anymore. Stay near the marina. There you will have access to many restaurants and bars. The excursions all leave from there too. Check out a restaurant called The Office and one called the Mango Deck. Lots of shopping and a big mall near marina also.

Candice W. replied:
Have been going to Cabo for 20 years. One recommendation is Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos. Not a 5 star hotel but rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Restaurants are good too. It’s right on Medano Beach which overlooks the Arch and is all-inclusive. Walking distance or inexpensive 2 minute cab ride to marina area where you find the nightlife and the the popular restaurants/clubs on the beach (The Office is easy short walk away). We prefer pre-booking private airport transfer to and from hotel and airport rather than cab or share ride shuttle.

We have a puppy (10 weeks old) and are need of weekend boarding/care. She isn't fully crate trained yet and came from a shelter. The normal boarding "hotels" won't...
Tc G. replied:
Your puppy needs to be in a home where all dogs are vaccinated and no unvaccinated puppies have been there for a couple yrs. So someone who fosters puppies wouldnt necessarily be a good candidate. Until all vaccinations are done, puppies shouldn't really go out of their own yards. IMO. Call a vet clinic and find a tech who will babysit for ya. Every Vet Ive ever worked for has a tech that babysits.
Jennifer D. replied:
Mindy Nance McQuilkin
Jeanette M. replied:
Get a pet sitter; Mindy Nance McQuilkin is a professional. You will be delaying progress of house training if you go the boarding route.
Mindy M. replied:
Nicole Bruton, I would be happy to take with you about your options. A puppy is hard because it's not ready for boarding, but hiring a pet sitter such as myself can get really pricey if your puppy can only hold it for a few hours. I have some other options if I can't help you. Www.petpamperingplus.com.

TownePlace Suites in Lewisville, by Vista Ridge mall, they are truly pet friendly, not just tolerant. We stayed there for five weeks while contractors kept messing up the job they were doing on a "one week " repair. We have a huge yellow lab and a Golden Retriever, they were treated like royalty:) four paws up! (and two thumbs up)
