Recommendations for Movers Hi all!
In about three weeks, I'll need to hire some movers for a few hours to load up our rental truck. My husband and I can do stuff like...

We moved a couple months ago from Dallas to Carrollton and used AB Moving. We had talked to 4-5 moving companies before we booked them. Other companies were giving us the runaround, tacking on extra rates after we tried to schedule them, etc. AB was professional, wrapped all of our furniture, got it done quickly, and only charged $250. We didn't move a piano, though. But I would be surprised if their movers didn't have experience with moving one. Good luck with your move!

Definitely don't use Lone Star Movers. They shoved our fridge through the front door of the house we were leaving which scraped the paint off all over the fridge doors and damaged the doorway to the house as well, completely lost all of the hardware to my son's crib, and took EIGHT AND A HALF FUCKING HOURS to move a three bedroom house with three guys and my husband helping because they said it would go faster if he helped so we could save money. Not to mention they were an hour late and didn't call, I had to call them and the guy at the office said they probably got stuck at another job. They showed up and had a washing machine in the truck from the previous job which they had to take out to fit all of our stuff then they just left it there in the driveway, never came back and got it or anything so we had to move it to the curb ourselves. It was pretty awful.

I am always seeing people move on my routes and have seen many different movers. The ones i have seen that looked the most impressive are move star. They are apparently firefighters that move on their spare time. They wrap everything neatly and move quickly. Now keep in mind this is just my observation i have noticed several times over my various routes in different areas in the city.

I also recommend AB Movers. They're not the cheapest, but they are professional and have done all of my moves quickly. I hate moving, really don't want to do for at least three years, but I will be hiring them the next go around. They have made all of my moves as pleasant as it can be. I recently made a mistake and used movers I found on Thumbtack (Handle With Care) to save some money, and I deeply regret it. The money I saved by using this company is money I'm having to spend after they broke my furniture and a dish, and offered me peanuts to replace it. After this experience, I'm surprised they didn't break anything else.

AM Moving Company did a great job for me about a month ago. They were quick and took care of everything and I think pretty reasonably priced.

I don't have a recommendation but I have a warning. I used to stop at the Racetrack gas station on the corner of Old Denton and Valley View a lot on the way to work and the drivers for All My Son's would start out their day there. The discussions about jail time and who was out or back in jail were alarming enough without the gang tattoos on every guy but the biggest shock was seeing the driver of one truck hitting his crack pipe right there in the parking lot as plain as day. So stay the hell away from All My Son's movers.

If your piano is valuable, I'd hire a dedicated mover for it. We used [Cousins Piano](http://www.cousinspiano.com/) for our last move and were pleased. They also stored it while we were temporarily in an apartment waiting for our home build to finish.

My gf and I used ameritex movers recently...I asked for three movers, one of them WAS WEARING A CAST ON HIS ARM! We have really nice brand new wooden furniture, pretty much every piece had some sort of scrape on it

We moved two weeks ago and used Mustang Movers and they were awesome! They brought an extra guy that they didn't charge us for and moved everything and under the estimated time. They were fast, professional, and did not break one thing. I would highly recommend them to anyone and plan on using them the next time I move.

I've had Hot Shots move my upright piano, antique china cabinet, etc up to a 3 rd floor apartment, down to a 1 st floor apartment, then to a house 50 miles away. They are fast and know what they are doing! hotshotsmoving.com

Me and my wife were in the same situation. Just need help and we're referred to www.movinghelp.com. It was easy and an upfront price was nice. They have reviews so just find one with good reviews and a price. It was pretty easy and the guys worked hard the full time.

Part depends on where you live. I am in the VERY west frisco, and in a Co-Op so Electric and Gas for me is CoServ (they are good and fair, but you have to live in their area). Have had TXU for Electric before and felt they were fair. I have AT&T for Internet (we have Giga-power in my area) so speeds are great, in 18 months only had 1 outage, and cannot blame AT&T, Spectrum cable is putting service in my area and they cut the AT&T fiber. AT&T Uverse is a TV option as is Spectrum, I have Dish, did have Time Warner (service was good, equipment sucked, and when back to Dish). I you are not in a Co-Op for electric/gas, then Atmos is a good choice. The best way to know if you are in the Co-Op is to look at the meter as it will say. You likely don't have anyone in the area you know to ask, but if you PM me the address, I can drive by in the next day and look for you. Hope this helps a bit

Depending on where you are in Frisco, two may be easy - City of Frisco for water and trash and Coserv for electric and gas. Check out Coserv's coverage map to see if you are in it - if so, you have no choice. We use Grande Communications for internet. Very happy for over 12 years. Ditched home phone and cable years ago, but they provide that as well. Welcome to Frisco!
