Looking for in home pet care when I'm on vacation. Diabetic cat who needs insulin shots twice a day. I really need a vacation, even just a weekend. The only thing...

where are you located? i too have a diabetic cat and would be willing to take care of your cat while you are gone in return for you maybe doing the same for us. we've searched around & haven't found anyone we were comfy with besides family.

I would check with Wag! The pet walking service. I had them dogsit for me, and I needed to find someone that could care for my ducks, cats ...and administer medications. Worked well for me. Edit: their customer service number is 323-616-1112 If that doesn't pan out, ask your vet, their techs might do side gigs like that or know someone who does.

Was in your shoes and it was terrible\~my cat hated being boarded, and he needed his insulin 2X a day. I have used 2 different vet techs from my vet's office. Both are great; they knew my pet from my visits, they love cats, and I totally trust them. It does help that I live 5 min. from my vet's office, so they are able to come before and after work very easily. Ask your vet about this; mine charge $15 per visit, and $30 a day for "in home" care has been worth every penny for us!!

Upvote for caring about your pets. I get anxious about mine too.

I use Happy Paws pet sitting service when I travel and they've been great. They went out of their way to accommodate my unpleasant, semi-feral cat who hid all the time. Not sure how much it would be to have them come by twice a day + additional medical concerns, but I can definitely offer them as a recommendation. http://www.happypawspet-sitting.com/

Is it not feasible for you to find a friend/coworker/family member who could help? I feel like any service that would come do this twice a day would probably be extremely expensive. Hopefully you find something that works for you and your kitty!

You could call your vet to see who they recommend. Or call cat specific vets in your area to ask who they recommend. There's a cat specific site similar to Wag called [Meowtel](http://meowtel.com/), but I'm not sure how active it is. Good luck in your search. I understand how stressful it can be to find a caretaker for the furry ones. I'd offer to see your kitties myself if you were closer. I used to pet sit for a licensed pet sitting service and got a lot of experience giving cats their meds.

Take a look at trustedhousesitters.com - I use it all the time, and the best part is, most people sit for free. They just want a free place to stay while vacationing themselves, and we're lucky in that we live in a desirable place for people to visit. A lot of people are also vet techs, or have a decent amount of pet experience; so long as you explain in your posting that you need someone who can handle doing insulin shots, you should be fine. Personally, I prefer having someone stay at the house versus just visiting once or twice a day as most catsitters do - my cats seem a lot happier having someone around.
Edit: if you decide you want to sign up, let me know. I can send you an invite that will knock 20% off the yearly fee.

Lali Navarro-Kile in Irvine takes care of our older cat when we are out of town. We just need feeding/litter box cleanup/check for any accidents, but she does an amazing job with daily updates that include pictures, and she will administer medication for no extra charge. She's $25/visit (pretty certain) and $35 if it's a weekend. https://www.furrybabiespetsit.com/about_us is her company.

I've been using At Home Cat Care for a long time now. They're a cat only pet sitting service and are very attentive.

We just hired 'nothin but wagz' for our two dogs. One of which needs shots. But she also does cats. They came highly recommended via a friend. The owner Scarlet is super nice and came to the house to meet and introduce herself and learn everything there is to know about the dogs. And she lives in Irvine so it wouldn't be too far away from your house. Scarlet McConahie nothin but wagz Mobile +1 949-793-0008https://www.instagram.com/nothinbutwagz/
Hi Guys!!! Happy Thursday! Can anyone recommend a vet or a free clinic for shots? Aspen's rabie shot is due and hoping not to have to drive to her old vet - too far....

Pro Pet Fix on the corner of Orangethorpe and St. College in Fullerton. They are known for low cost shots. Our rescue group uses them all the time.

PetTime Animal Hospital in Upland. Dr Chris Bory. Best vet I've ever had. Other people at the dog park go there too.

Animal Hospital of Walnut has a clinic on Saturdays. Wonderful folks there, too!
Hi there. We have an 11 week old Dane and he is having issues with knuckling over. We saw the vet and they said change the diet so we did and it is still getting worse....

I have a great vet in Corona... http://www.tillemavetclinic.com/
We actually went to Great Dane lady from the start. When we started him on the vitamins it seem to get worse so we took him off. The problem that keeps happening is they get better every Saturday and then they get worse by Wednesday and then the cycle happens all over again. Vet just says nutrition but we just don't know..
my Dozer is suffering from some pretty bad allergies right now. We were given Oclacitnib to give him (again) that seems to help a lot last time. The vet recommended...
