The only pediatric ophthalmologist around is Dr. Pauline Hong at Sierra Eye Associates in reno. Next closest in in Sacramento.

If she's still practicing, Dr. Denise Satterfield in Sacramento is worth the drive! She operated on my son when he was two and a half, and found an underlying brain issue before that had been missed by his previous opthalmologist secondary to his age. She is amazing with children! We lived in Tahoe at the time and made the trip to see her multiple times. My son ended up having three eye surgeries before he was eight and has minimal eye difficulties (he turns 20 tomorrow)

Patti I couldn’t find one but the kids are going to Sierra Eye Associates in Reno. There are several Dr in the group depending on what you need.

The Center for Advanced Eyecare is the only ophthalmologist that comes to The Valley. I see Dr. Vazeen, and I really like his knowledge, and beside manner. I know other people see Dr. Wu, and love him. All the providers there are great.
