Take a look on Instagram! You’ll get a great feeling for the kind of work contractors like to do and are good at since they’re proud enough to show it off through stills or timelapses. I’ve found some great tradespeople this way.

I sell appliances and tend to ask everyone coming in who's doing their kitchen. I have never heard of any of these three companies. We've had a lot of happy customers using Astro, Deslaurier and Laurysen though. I'd imagine you just want to see if you could potentially find a sample of their work somewhere and see if it meets your standards.

Do not know any you mentioned but we too are doing kitchen reno and I asked a while back for recommendations. We had meetings with MR Kitchen and Deslauriers. Side note we used Reno Guys for our bathrooms and they were completely disrespectful of our space and cut tiles in our garage with a car and stroller in it coating everything instead of cutting outside. We got to the formal design stage with MR Kitchens and got 3 designs but the guy was communicating via email and phone and the guy getting pushy with emails and calls (we went one day not getting back to him and it was like the end of the world). That said I have heard very positive things about their work. For us, how you treat us being younger is a huge huge consideration. We just did a drop in visit at Deslauriers 2 weeks ago and it was the most horrid experience. Part of our issue is being young so no one takes us seriously but the lady who we sat down with was so condescending and felt like we were wasting her time and was pissed we did not have exact measurements. We had approximate figures for the space and just wanted to discuss a few things. She did say "Before we waste time coming to your house...". So rude. We got in contact with Britannia Cabinetry in Kemptville who did an family members cabinets and had an absolutely amazing first meeting at our house. We are waiting for designs and pretty much can guarantee we will be proceeding with them because of their easygoing friendly yet professional demeanor. Measured every single angle and height in the kitchen and will do a design. Absolutely lovely people.

Not kitchen related, but I met with Wesley from ONEWAY about building a new deck for my house. In the end we didn't go with them as a relative in construction offered to build the deck for us, though I would have been comfortable hiring them as Wesley was professional, very quick to respond to emails and worked with us to try and accommodate our budget. I know these things should be a given, but we'd had a number of other contractors and deck specialists either not bother showing up for the appointment or come in and say what a simple job it was, no problem to do it, then never respond to our follow-ups.

I'm literally redoing our kitchen right now (cabinets installing, day 2). I strongly recommend the contractor we're using and am happy to pass along contact deets. PM if interested

Have you checked out [Fresh Reno](http://www.freshreno.ca/)? Several friends have hired them and been happy. They are the only renovators I've seen who post prices on their website.

Granite Transformations does full reno's. Very professional consults. I'd check them out.

I would get in touch with ONEWAY. We've met with Wesley, the owner, and we've been very impressed with his enthusiasm and his responsiveness. All of their quotes are extremely detailed, so you know exactly what you're getting. It's also worth noting that all of their work is guaranteed for 10 years, which shows a high level of commitment and confidence in their work. We've dealt with a lot of contractors over the years and we've been impressed with them thus far.

After getting multiple quotes and speaking with neighbours, we went with Toitures Raymond. My husband works construction (in Ottawa), and he's very happy with the quality of work. http://www.toituresraymond.ca/en/

Zion Roofing. They did ours last year and we couldn't have been happier with the cost, the work and the warranties. Our neighbour also contracted with them 3 years prior. Same recommendation.

Groupe Legris. Éric Legris the owner is very honest and reliable.

I second the recommendation for Groupe Legris! The work was well done, the contracting/estimation process transparent and easy, and they allowed me to make changes on the fly. (Which, admittedly, slowed down the reno while we waited for custom pieces, but that's not their fault.) I've heard good things about Maréchal as well, and I was impressed with the reviews for Rénovations Bourgeois (as well as the owner/operator, who did the estimate at my place). We simply choose Legris because they offered the best price for work performed.
