I've also experienced catering with CJs (at a wedding) and they did a superb job with appetizers and dinner for around 100 people.

Austin Wedding Venues for 500-600 people Does anyone know any wedding venues for Austin Wedding Venues for 500-600 people? Preferably allowing outside...

My sister had almost that many people at her wedding at the UT Union building several years ago. She couldn’t use an outside caterer though.
kanyeguisada replied:
Why would you want outside catering? The perfect venue for you is to rent out the original Chili's at 45 th and Lamar, and at the end of the day people are going to be fucked up on (actually pretty tasty) frosty margs and they're going to be in love with that skillet queso. And nobody is going to question this meme even though if you actually washed down skillet queso with frosty margs, in reality that would un-melt that cheese and help turn it into a probably unpleasant thing to pass through your bowels. But it at least feels good while you're doing it.

Hopefully you are looking for far out. You could contact real estate agents and see if any of the houses in the redbud road area would? Jester King would be a nice place if it’s not summer. They recently purchased more land too.

It really depends on your budget, but the big hotels, especially near the convention center like the JW Marriott or The Fairmont, can accommodate a party of that size. Also large venues like the Bob Bullock museum or the UT Alumni Center. Outside of town, Horseshoe Bay Resort or Lakeway Resort can. Pay attention to where big charities host their events for ideas. I went to an event at Wild Onion Ranch - even though their site says they can host 300 people, there were at least 1,000 attendees... but they had a gigantic tent set up to the side of the property to fit all the tables. It will be trickier to find a place that will allow you to bring your own catering but won’t be a hassle for your guests to get to - you may have to find a ranch style property and negotiate with the owner and then spend a fortune on tables/chairs/tents.
Looking for names and recommendations on local caterers in Georgetown - I know this question has been asked before by some but cannot seem to find the thread so thought...

Hi Katherine, I would have to say IMO that all of these suggestions are fantastic and it all comes down to what you want your guests to enjoy. LaVita is more italian style from what I have experienced and I hear great things about their veal sandwiches, Ready to grill has alot of variety and it is delicious as heck but I prefer grilling it myself-making it better for summer/fall gatherings, and Hungry Hollow is just awesome... just absolutely delicious and awesome! I am not sure of his full menu but I've managed to pick up a few things for myself here and there and i've never been disappointed! I havent had experience with any of the other names mentioned with the exception of Edible Delights- thats my place:). Our website just features our baked items and custom cakes, something we're working on correcting now, so if you are interested in any information, a sample menu, or pricing options, you will have to contact our head chef Wendy at firstpass@live.ca and she can give you some really great options to consider as well. If you are able to add in any details about your event such as event type, season, venue and feeling (casual, business, family etc) she can give you some wonderful suggestions as we custom tailor every menu based on the feel of each event and of course the budget given. There are lots of great options in Georgetown. Make sure to check them all out!:)
