Favorite little coffee shop in Georgetown? Looking for a local place to work for an hour or two, have a good cup of coffee, and support a local business. Thx!

I'm on the western edge of Georgetown, so while my recommendation is far from Georgetown proper, it's close for me. Red Horn offers delicious coffee (great nitro cold brew). If work gets stressful, they brew some great beer, too! (House United Coffee Stout) http://redhornbrew.com/

Jeffry Marth There are three that I love (as long as we are strictly talking quality of coffee): 1) Brookwood in Georgetown. Pros: THE best cup of pour over you'll find for 30 minutes. Cons: Bit of a wait. Small area. 2) Jes Sui. Pros: It's a food truck in a drive up situation. Great cold brew, super cool people. Cons:?? 3) Whoops! The newest! Pros: Ummmm macarons?! Matcha lates?! great ambiance?! cute decor?! Adorable owner? Cons: small area, not on the Square, in a new area where there are only one or two other businesses. Runner up: (haven't been to it though) did you know there's a Juice Land? Don't go to Cianfranis. Don't go to Starbucks. Don't go to Roots (for coffee) Don't go to Red Poppy.

New to the area, looking for a coffee shop with a bit of character - quaint, cozy, etc. Any suggestions?

Had the same post a few weeks ago, with your very question. My thoughts... Cianfrani is great to get a little work done or have coffee with a couple friends. Their coffee is great and service is nice. Cianfrani has become my go-to when I'm downtown and want to work for an hour or two. BIG (Brookwood in Georgetown) has wonderful service and the food/coffee is outstanding. Good for visiting with a couple people, but not the place you'd want to go by yourself to read or do some work. Tried Red Poppy Coffee twice, and probably will pass from here on. Can't get past how messy it always looks and the quality is too low for the price. Don't let Je Suis showing as a food truck fool you! Fun place to sit and visit, and they do have covered places to sit. Some good character there!
Kristin D. replied:
I agree with all of this. We tried Red Poppy also, the staff was annoyed by our very presence, we clearly bothered her by asking for two lattes. (no other customers present) She made both of them wrong, we asked for both hot, she made one on ice. Instead of making a new one she poured it into another cup WITH the ice and steamed it to heat it up....

Red Poppy is also attached to the library which is the noisiest library I've ever been to and last time I was there, someone was sitting having coffee CLIPPING THEIR NAILS!!!! https://www.facebook.com/169839846411114Monument Market is also a good place to work for a bit and they https://www.facebook.com/1456641621219750 have a really good cold brew on tap and Sweet Lemon Inn & Kitchen is where I often work - they have tables outside in the front and back and wifi usually reaches...

Love Sweet Lemon on church street. And a neat coffee shop downtown across from courthouse .

Oh! Je Suis has lots of character and comfy seating. It is quaint, in my opinion.
What local coffee shop do y’all recommend? Would like to grab a good brew that’s not a chain

Ditto Cianfrani on the Square. See people in there all the time on laptops. And it is quiet.
A coffee shop! Y'know, I think I need some Starbucks! This one hit it pretty good...I may need to add more coffee shop time to my already brimming schedule...Ha!!
