No, not all docs are trained or qualified in Functional Medicine, although many claim to be. Check www.functionalmedicine.org to find a listing of those with proper training. Sorry you had a negative experience with someone who clearly wants to use the title without putting in the work. He doesn't have a clue.

Hubby and I both see Dr. Leaverette. We both really like him and his office staff, not to mention his PA. She's awesome. And there are multiple doctors in the office so if one isn't in, there's always one available. Good luck.

My daily migraines were from a combination of low D3, calcium & magnesium and HypoPARAthyroidsim The only thing that would knock them out was nubain, butorphanol, or the horrible ER combination of Morphine, Atavan, Benedryl, Anti-naseau, and anti-inflammatory all in one shot! NOT GOOD. So I do everything I can to avoid the ER. Also I just recently realized the my wheat food allergy was triggering them as well. Even if you weren't allergic to wheat you may have a problem with it now due to http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2014/04/15/glyphosate-health-effects.aspx
