Vet Recommendations for Surgery I just moved here fairly recently and I have a 9 year old dog. I brought her to a vet to have them look at a mass I found near her neck...

I really love the people at [Queen village Animal Hospital](https://www.yelp.com/biz/queen-village-animal-hospital-philadelphia) but their pricing is not cheap. [Cottman Animal Hospital](https://www.yelp.com/biz/cottman-animal-hospital-philadelphia-2) in the NE is also very good and pretty reasonably priced.

I love Wissahickon Veterinary Hospital.

Just went through multiple surgeries and cancer treatments for my cat between Queen Village AH and VSEC. Both not cheap but got the work done. They dont do certain procedures at the VSEC Philadelphia location so if you end up there its possible you will be driving to Levittown which we had to do.

Take my pets here and they're good. I'm sure it's cheaper than Queen Village but I'm just guessing https://www.yelp.com/biz/companion-pet-hospital-philadelphia

Dutton road clinic. It's in far NE, around byberry and route 1. I highly recommend the vets there. They're cutting edge, but also SUPER affordable.
This group helped me with my back yard fence. Now I have another request. Veternarians please? I have most things settled now I need a vet for my 3 dogs. Any...

Ambler Vet is amazing!!!!

Rau in Jenkintown or Willow Grove. Two locations. They are good. I personally go to Steinbach Vet in Bluebell PA. Dr Jon King. He's my guy for 30 years.
Rebecca H. replied:
Rau is a fantastic place, they take excellent care and have great services. However, they are pricey. I go to Ambler Vet Clinic, there's only one doc and the facility is smaller and less lovely to look at, but I absolutely trust the vet and the prices are insanely cheap.

Ft. Washington all the way! Especially Dr. Jeff Berman -- he's worth waiting for if it's not an emergency! As Megan said, they're not a "bargain" practice, but you do get what you pay for. I used to go to Rau until they tried to "sell" me a $2,000 bladder-stone operation that our cat didn't need Went for a second opinion, and the other vet said, "Did they do x-rays?" Um, well ... no ... So he took an x-ray, showed it to us, and said, "Nope, not a single stone in there -- all he's got is a regular old UTI!" $10 worth of antibiotics, and he was fine.
Eileen K. replied:
Linda, Dr. Fecher is the vet who saved us the $2,000 on that unnecessary operation that Rau tried to sell us Great guy, and we went to him for years, but a bit too far from us now.
Joann S. replied:
Seems like a lot of praise for Marc Piccone. Saved my Westie have been with Ambler Vet for 43 years.
Eileen K. replied:
If cost really is a concern, Dr. Madden and Dr. Piccone are very good choices.
Beth C. replied:
Dr Piccone... Ambler Vet
Jean D. replied:
Ambler Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Marc Piccone. He is the best! He does not overcharge, is extemely kind & caring, and very honest!!
Jessica H. replied:

Rau Animal Hospital...using them for over 30 years Hamilton Animal Hospital busted my dogs eardrum trying to clean them. Deaf in ear because of it !!!!
Joanne W. replied:
Dr.madden in Ambler. He is great. He has been our vet since my boy was a pup. I have been to many in the area and worked in a few and I swear he is the sweetest loving genuine vet I know. My pup got in poison a few days after we got him. Dr. Madden made time for us right away and since we were hard on money at the time he waived the emergency visit charge. He just wanted my pup to get the care he needed ASAP.
Donna M. replied:
Piccone or Hamilton Both are great!

Unfortunately I had a horrible experience with Dr. Piccone. I don't recommend him.
Allison H. replied:
I've recommended Ambler Vet to many friends and family for over 25 years. They all love Dr. Piccone. Sorry if you had a bad experience Megan. I've had horrific experiences with Hamilton and Montgomery Animal Hospitals. Rau is way overpriced as is Horsham Vet.
Tabitha M. replied:
I have been going to Ambler Vet for 18 years with my 6 cats and have recommended many to him. He takes time with each of them and I really trust him. He also helps us not spend a fortune by doing tests that are unnecessary unless he's not sure about something, unlike other vets I have gone to in this area. I have also gone to Hopewell Vet in Elkins Park with my small animals and they are more expensive than Dr. Piccone but I like everyone I've met there and they've done a good job taking care of my guys. Hope you find one you like! Its so important to trust your vet.
First time dog owner, any vet recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.
Vanessa G. replied:

Without question - Hopewell Veterinary Hospital. Most caring vets and staff I've met in this area. They are truly amazing and reasonably priced.

We actually didn't like Hopewell. Too long of a wait once there for scheduled appointment and receptionists who never greeted me. Highly recommend Rau. http://www.rauanimalhospital.com
