Dr Williams on Wolverine Blvd is amazing! My daughter had to go through the same process and he made it less traumatic for her and their prices weren't too horrible. Good luck!

Dr. Flood on Cascade is great. He is minimally invasive. Uses natural practices... Etc

All 3 of my kids started young and had expanders. They have to live through having a gap in their teeth for a few weeks. But its much better to expand the jaw to fit the teeth than pull teeth later. We used Armbrecht Orthodontics. Can't say enough about them.

We were referred to an ortho for a possible expander for my 8 (now 9) year old. Dr. Williams in Rockford has seen us two times now for a free consult and is still saying he's seeing small changes without needing an expander at this point. I appreciate his honesty and saving me money on unnecessary orthodontics at this time! Would highly recommend!

Dr. Brieden & Miller in Rockford has been great for my 8 yr old who just got his expander in June. If at all possible wait until summer allowing a couple weeks for her to get used to it. My son could barely talk with the new chunk of metal in his mouth, now you cant tell he has one:)

I'm a dental assistant, and that is "typical" for a child if the Dentist sees "issues". I've seen It recommended for children to start phase 1 by age 10. This usually can cut down the time for phase 2. My daughter has an incomplete cleft palette and just turned 8. And we are starting down that road. Dr Powell is amazing:) Second opinions are not a bad idea either.

Check out Williams Orthodontics at the corner of Wolverine (Northland Dr) and Belding. Awesome staff and Dr. Williams makes you feel very comfortable. We saw him for a second opinion and have never looked back.

Armbrecht Orthodonitics is wonderful...famiy business, two offices - kentwood and grandville, staff is AMAZING. my oldest has some anxiety issues and she has been a-ok in their capable hands.

Lathe Miller Orthodontics on Cascade Rd. is very kid friendly! My son had the same issue and he was 7 when he got his braces.

We go to Dr Kruse he was highly recommended to us by an oral surgeon in the area who said he wouldn't go anywhere else. They have been nominated for a service award. And prices were very competitive. I would recommend getting 2 opinions wherever you go. We found there was a major price difference between the exact same treatment plan at dr Kruses office and another office in Caledonia.

Hannapel Orthodontics is the best!!! Super kid friendly, he is awesome!

We love Huyser Orthodontics on E. Beltline/Bradford. He doesn't rush braces until the child's mouth/teeth are ready and doesn't try to suck money out of you when a treatment at the time isn't necessary.

Dr. Kruse is amazing! He is in Kentwood!

Dr. Edward Young in Standale, on Leonard near Wilson. Great with kids. My son had the same issue. We had a consult when he was young. They had us come back when he had more adult teeth. He's 10 now and has expanders. He gets braces on the top front teeth in about 8 or 9 weeks. My son is very nervous about the dentist and having his mouth messed with and he had done very well there.

Oh the other thing that I like about Dr. Young is the free consultation and way that they work out the payment plans to help make it affordable, which is why we are willing to drive from Dorr/Wayland to go there.

Definitely Armbrecht Orthodontics. They are very kid-friendly.

Dr. Kevin Flood on Cascade Rd is excellent. He is non-invasive when possible.

Dr. Webb is with Great Lakes Dental. We have the other doctor with them. They're all great there. So that's 3 votes for Great Lakes Dental.

Orthodontist Dr.Ed Young on lenord and wilson. My daughter goes to him I love the entire office great great place. Quiet a few people from Cummings use him. And of it helps he came recommend from my daughters cranial facial surgeon.

I work for 2 great dentists in Grandville, but if that it's too far for you I asked my boss for a recommendation on the nw side. She recommends Dr. Robert Mull on Lake Michigan Dr. I second Dr. Powell for ortho, but another good one is Dr. Laura Fogle on 3 mile.

I second Dr. Bob (Robert Mull). He is awesome, staff is great, and we never wait. Elliot and Bridget both enjoy going there. And they are awesome at not up-selling you and great with billing/insurance help (if you need it).

We've used Dr. Young - Leonard & Wilson. He was very good.

I've never used Dr. Young, but I believe he's the most affordable on the West Side in terms of what he requires as a down payment. We go to Dr. Powell in Jenison. He's awesome & we initially chose him bcuz the down payment is only $168.

I have 2 kids, one went to Dr Young and the other Dr Powell. I didn't care for Dr Youngs office but was very happy with Dr Powell. Great staff and excellent service.

Angie Lake- Kowalczyk - where did you get a quote for $2,800 from? I shopped around and found that $4,500 was the lowest. My son already has his on through Dr. Powell, but my daughter will need them in a few years, too.

Smiles by Dr M he is out on 44 th next to the armory. My oldest got them on in7 th grade just came off this past Monday she is s sophomore. When we first went to him he had an office on Leonard and legging well. We're he was1 week a month the office is to busy to do that now. We live on the NE side of town and most times I took division straight out.

I made appointment with Dr Young. Going to see what he says first.

Have you contacted the Michigan Donated Dental people? There is information on the michigan.gov site. Otherwise I think they do dental care at Grand Rapids Community college, but I don't know if they will be able to help you with the root canal thing...sorry, probably not much help. I'll pray for you!

My dentist Kent Wildren has been allowing us to make payments for some time now. It wouldn't hurt to ask if they would allow you to do the same???
