Regarding Amy Swaim: She is a speech-language pathologist who also trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis. She has her certification as a behavioral therapist. She accepted Medicaid in the past, but I cannot say with certainty that she does now.

A Bridge to Learning, Charla Hutchinson is the director- BCBA for this region..ABA is their main therapy, but they are excellent consultants, she works out of Lexington, but gives priority to individuals in the triad area... Amy Swaim worked with my son years ago, only as a speech-therapist..she was good also.A Bridge to Learning accepts medicaid and CAP I believe, phone number 336-608-1810.

He'll be 8 in September. How old is your son? The only thing holding him back is his rigidity and it's really disappointing that we can't get him the services he needs to help with that. We're actually considering moving to another state. One that covers ABA services and where there isn't a waitlist for such services.

In NE FL Nemours Clinic has a bike give-a-way every year. Look for something similar in your area, or on-line. We got ours from a local child who'd outgrown it. Hand-me-downs are the way to go!

We are receiving my son's bike today through Variety Children's Charity in Pittsburgh.

Recommendations to a good therapist (not expensive) So a friend of mine is going through some things and wanted to know who a good therapist in the area was....

https://www.dr-jane.com She played a big role in helping me overcome 25 years of clinic depression. I don’t remember the fees because whatever it was literally had a value of 100 x the fee. She is amazingly talented and very cool to talk to.

Catherine Tanner Harron. If a patient doesn’t have insurance she charges a sliding scale fee ($60-100 according to her website), although I think she may limit the number of clients she can do that for. I’ve been seeing her for years, she’s very kind and nurturing but won’t just tell you what you want to hear. Highly recommend!

The psych clinic at UNCG uses sliding scale.

I had a counselor in Winston that I would have recommended to you had he not moved. I tried to find a counselor in GSO and the one my PCP recommended, a Catholic counseling center, would not see me. My anxiety/depression was worsened by alcohol, so I was labeled substance abuse, which they do not do. I ended up getting by without a counselor. While I haven't tried it, I bookmarked this site for potential future use. I haven't needed CBT, however, my wife has, and the last couple sessions with her CBT counselor in RDU, were remote/webcam/phone. Again, I haven't tried this site, but they look credible and it is on my radar for either her or myself. They do say you are matched to one counselor. [Talkspace](https://www.talkspace.com)
