I see Dr. Jeffery Dendy. They take Medicare and have a big staff. They're across from GMS. St. Francis is a wonderful hospital too.
Ed L. replied:

You can't go wrong with Upstate Cardiology or any of their Doctors. I see Dr. Brad Simpson, and they take Medicare. Good family Dr Cypress Internal Medicine. Don't know the area where you live but they have offices at Patewood, off Pelham Rd., Highway 14 off Woodruff Rd., Simpsonville and more. Wonderful group of Doctors.
Margaret P. replied:
Dr.Vest at Upstate Cardiology did my heart ablation. I see a doctor at IMA of Greenville at Verdae. My doctor no longer accepts new patients, but they have many internist there who do. They are one of the best in Greenville. But if you're dead set about not seeing GMH people, then don't go there. They are part of the Greenville Medical system. I have never had any problems with them. GMH treated my husband for a stroke last June, & we've never been treated better. Been to both hospitals.
Leigh B. replied:
Upstate Cardiology the best. Especially Dr Ross
Brenda B. replied:
The Greenville System has one of the best Clinic systems any where and all you need to do is apply. The Greenville System is not privately owned and never turns any one away The only thing that is turned down is if it is an elective procedure.
Brenda H. replied:
Dr.Davis in Greer us too
Ellen B. replied:
Carolina Cardiolgy .. recognized as one of THE best groups anywhere. Heart surgeon, Dr. Barry Davis is known to be one of the best.

My primary care dr is dr Scott Weikle at travelers Rest internal Medicine. He is very good. He is tied to St Francis. I have been with him since 2007. I have no complaints. And upstate Cardiology is the best. I prefer St Francis Downtown the best. I don't know a dentist. I wish I did. Good luck and welcome to Greenville.

Cypress Internal Medicine is great for primary care. They have several office locations. Carolina Cardiology for heart care. GHS has many really good doctor offices.

The upper limit for Medicare dental plans is $750.
Linda J. replied:
Lost our daughter to a staph infection after a pacemaker done at Memorial. Go to Carolina Cardiology. Dr. Patel is very good. They were NOT my daughters doctors. Wish they had been.
David A. replied:
There is a reason St Francis has low infection rates. They don't do many heart surgeries and send there patients as far away as Atlanta to get them done. I'm a long time heart patient and wouldn't trust Upstate or St Francis. Carolina Cardiolgy is the absolute best, will do all types of heart surgery and GHS is where you want to be for cardio! Medicare will pay a small amount towards minor dental treatment such as cleaning but does not cover most dental procedures.
Barbara P. replied:
stay with St. Francis Hospital! Medicare to my knowledge has NO benefits, are you sure it's not Medicaid?
Betty T. replied:
Dr. Cebe, Upstate Cardiology. And, most definitely St Francis, downtown. Upstate drs are always there.

Moving to Greenville and looking for doctor suggestions for our 18 month old. Need pediatrician, ENT, ophthalmologist, cardiologist, the works! Please let me know who...
Bridget W. replied:
We have a 16 month old and our 2 nd baby due in November. Would love to meet you and your family. We currently see Dr. Cooter (ENT) at Greenville ENT-Patewood Campus, Dr. Johnson at Jervey Eye Group. We are currently thinking of changing pediatricians and considering Carolina Pediatrics at Patewood (I know of one Dr. there that has a heart for DS kids). Others might have additional suggestions. Do you know which part of Greenville? That might help, since many of us are spread out across town. Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.
Beth H. replied:
Oh yeah. I am a Peds OTR with Easter Seals. Do all early intervention. I second Ahead Start. They are my favorite EI's to work with. I can also make Rec's for therapists but you can do that through your EI too. Let me know if I can help with BabyNet or anything related to therapies.
Jennifer A. replied:
My son with Ds is almost 7. We see Dr. Malpass for cardio and love him, though we don't go too often anymore. We also see Dr. Johnson for ophthalmology. The Children's Clinic is great; our primary pedi is Dr. Pierce. Also like Dr. Manley and Dr. Shepherd there. All very laid back but thorough. We have never needed ENT. Anyway, welcome! We live near Furman and Travelers Rest so not far from you.
Kristi W. replied:
My daughter with Ds is 6. We live in the Campobello area..But I see you are friends with Teresa Cantrell...(I think she told me about you at one our kids events at school awhile ago:) But we also see Dr Johnson for ophthalmologist. ENT we see Greer ENT Dr . Foster. If you need other dr recommendations let me know..
Christel P. replied:
We have a 4 yr old son, BJ, with DS and we see all the same doctors as Beth Blair Hollenbeck mentioned with the exception of Cardiology. We see Dr. Rauniker. We are very blessed that BJ doesn't have any issues with his heart so we only have to see him every 5 yrs unless something comes up. Also, BJ attends the Meyer Center for special children and gets his therapy there with the exception of pool therapy which we go to the Care Center for that! He has become a totally different child since starting at the Meyer Center...for the better! We have been amazed at all he is accomplishing! Please feel free to message/friend me here on FB if I can help you with anything at all!
Karin M. replied:
My son, Ryan (6, DS) sees: Pediatrician: Dr. Butcher; Cardio: Dr. Malpass; ENT: Dr. Yuko; Ophthalmologist: Dr. Johnson; Peds Neuro: Dr. Hunnicutt; Sleep disorders: Dr. Gault. Beth H. replied:
We have a 7 yr old with DS, but are moving to San Diego in a few weeks. I wanted to mention our pediatrician. Dr. Earle at The Children's Clinic. He is FANTASTIC and is up on everything DS, loves our son and goes out of his way to communicate (call my cell, our home, etc.). I must mention he is laid back and doesn't get too excited about anything. One time he looked at me and said "So, do you want to do antibiotics?":) Some people are okay with that, some are not. We also see Dr. Johnson for Ophth, Dr. Malpass for Cardio and Dr. Brown for ENT (same practice as Dr. Cooter). We are going to miss this great group of people and doctors here in GVL!
Gloria C. replied:
We have a 9 month old daughter with DS and she sees Dr Butcher at Carolina Pediatrics (amazing..LOVE her), Dr Johnson at Jervey Eye Group for ophthalmology, and Dr Horne for cardiology (pediatric cardiology at Greenville Health System). If y'all are looking for an early interventionist, we use Ahead Start and are really pleased. There are really wonderful resources in Greenville:)
Rachel B. replied:
Request Mary Jo ray at ahead start for early intervention best ei in town:)

Lynne T. replied:
Hi. My name is Lynne and my son is 22. Grat doctors are: Pediatric Cardiology of GHS
Lynne T. replied:
Pediatric Nephrology (Dr. Walters), Family Dental Health (Dr. Covington), We used Children's Clinic in Greenville but have since moved to Heritage Pediatrics & Internal Medicine when Chandler aged out of Pediatrics. Greenville Hospital System has all of the pediatric specialties. You can google them under GHS. Greenville does not have a pediatric rheumatologist that I am aware of. We went to Duke and are transitioning to an adult one here as we speak. We used Mary Crockett as a pediatric dentist and she too is great. Let me know if you need anything else. We also have Camp Spearhead which is a summer camp as well as provides weekend activities. Randy Murr would be your contact for that. 288-6470 Welcome to Greenville! And that grat is supposed to say great!
Karin M. replied:
Tracey Butcher (Carolina Peds) has numerous DS patients (incl my son). She's on the board of the DSFA, so you can meet her at the Buddy Walk on Sunday if you go.:) Btw, we're in greer too.
Andrea B. replied:
Welcome to Greenville/Greer. We use Dr.Rauniker for cardiology. We also use Greer Pediatric dentistry (we love Dr. Mary). If your looking for a general family dentist, we LOVE Dr. Ben at Restoration Family & Cosmeric Dentistry on Poinsett!
