Moving to Greenville and looking for doctor suggestions for our 18 month old. Need pediatrician, ENT, ophthalmologist, cardiologist, the works! Please let me know who...
Bridget W. replied:
We have a 16 month old and our 2 nd baby due in November. Would love to meet you and your family. We currently see Dr. Cooter (ENT) at Greenville ENT-Patewood Campus, Dr. Johnson at Jervey Eye Group. We are currently thinking of changing pediatricians and considering Carolina Pediatrics at Patewood (I know of one Dr. there that has a heart for DS kids). Others might have additional suggestions. Do you know which part of Greenville? That might help, since many of us are spread out across town. Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.
Beth H. replied:
Oh yeah. I am a Peds OTR with Easter Seals. Do all early intervention. I second Ahead Start. They are my favorite EI's to work with. I can also make Rec's for therapists but you can do that through your EI too. Let me know if I can help with BabyNet or anything related to therapies.
Jennifer A. replied:
My son with Ds is almost 7. We see Dr. Malpass for cardio and love him, though we don't go too often anymore. We also see Dr. Johnson for ophthalmology. The Children's Clinic is great; our primary pedi is Dr. Pierce. Also like Dr. Manley and Dr. Shepherd there. All very laid back but thorough. We have never needed ENT. Anyway, welcome! We live near Furman and Travelers Rest so not far from you.
Kristi W. replied:
My daughter with Ds is 6. We live in the Campobello area..But I see you are friends with Teresa Cantrell...(I think she told me about you at one our kids events at school awhile ago:) But we also see Dr Johnson for ophthalmologist. ENT we see Greer ENT Dr . Foster. If you need other dr recommendations let me know..
Christel P. replied:
We have a 4 yr old son, BJ, with DS and we see all the same doctors as Beth Blair Hollenbeck mentioned with the exception of Cardiology. We see Dr. Rauniker. We are very blessed that BJ doesn't have any issues with his heart so we only have to see him every 5 yrs unless something comes up. Also, BJ attends the Meyer Center for special children and gets his therapy there with the exception of pool therapy which we go to the Care Center for that! He has become a totally different child since starting at the Meyer Center...for the better! We have been amazed at all he is accomplishing! Please feel free to message/friend me here on FB if I can help you with anything at all!
Karin M. replied:
My son, Ryan (6, DS) sees: Pediatrician: Dr. Butcher; Cardio: Dr. Malpass; ENT: Dr. Yuko; Ophthalmologist: Dr. Johnson; Peds Neuro: Dr. Hunnicutt; Sleep disorders: Dr. Gault. They're all wonderful, but I cannot say enough good things about our fabulous pediatrician, Dr. Butcher!!! <3 her!!! (PS.... she's on the board of DSFA)
Karin M. replied:
Oh yeah..... and can't forget Dr. Rogers for genetics (Greenwood Genetics) <3 <3 <3
Crystal H. replied:
We see Dr Raunikar for cardiology and he is awesome! Our pediatrician it's Dr Godwin in Powdersville. We love her!
Beth H. replied:
We have a 7 yr old with DS, but are moving to San Diego in a few weeks. I wanted to mention our pediatrician. Dr. Earle at The Children's Clinic. He is FANTASTIC and is up on everything DS, loves our son and goes out of his way to communicate (call my cell, our home, etc.). I must mention he is laid back and doesn't get too excited about anything. One time he looked at me and said "So, do you want to do antibiotics?":) Some people are okay with that, some are not. We also see Dr. Johnson for Ophth, Dr. Malpass for Cardio and Dr. Brown for ENT (same practice as Dr. Cooter). We are going to miss this great group of people and doctors here in GVL!
Gloria C. replied:
We have a 9 month old daughter with DS and she sees Dr Butcher at Carolina Pediatrics (amazing..LOVE her), Dr Johnson at Jervey Eye Group for ophthalmology, and Dr Horne for cardiology (pediatric cardiology at Greenville Health System). If y'all are looking for an early interventionist, we use Ahead Start and are really pleased. There are really wonderful resources in Greenville:)
Rachel B. replied:
Request Mary Jo ray at ahead start for early intervention best ei in town:)
Does anyone know of a good eye doctor in the greer, greenville, or even spartanburg area?
D'Ann T. replied:
If this is for Alex, make sure he sees an Ophthalmologist and not an Optometrist. I have been seeing Dr. Civiletto for 13 years. He is awesome even though he works for Jervey Eye Group864-963-2171. The staff is also great.
Sammie D. replied:

Greenville friends...what eye doctor and dentist do you go to? I need some recommendations. Reviews on the Internet are scaring me.
Erika B. replied:
And we go to Dr. Nigh by Haywood road for eye
hannaH w. replied:
I go to America's Best for glasses and contact needs. It is down across from the Haywood mall. I have never had a bad experience with them and they are reasonably priced. I also go to Southwest Dental (I think) It is also down that way. I really like them and I highly dislike going to the dentist. They had a groupon out a year or 2 ago, so that is why I started going there.
Rickey H. replied:
I like the Jervey Eye Group. I see (no pun intended) Dr Donald Shelley (you shouldn't have any problem remembering his last name! Lol) He is on Faris Road across from GMH.
Any recommendations for a good ophthalmologist in Greenville. Not happy with the office next to GUC on Greenville Blvd nor the Walmart one. Sick of dealing with rude...
Suggestion for a pediatric eye doctor/group....other than Jervey.
Lori W. replied:
Dr Smith (although he is at jervey) was awesome with Danielle who had 2 eye muscle surgeries the first one when she was 2.... Don't like all the docs there but he was exceptional in my opinion
Kristi C. replied:
Go to Dr Cheeseman at Palmetto health in Columbia! He lives in Greenwood but travels! My oldest had eye muscle surgery at 18 months! Been great ever since!
