Hi!
Has anyone gotten LASEK (not LASIK) in Korea? I'd like to hear about anyone's experiences with the recovery.
Thanks!

I got mine there too (EYE clinic Gju) about 9 years ago. Total success. I used to be -6 -7. On those times the system may have been different, because they still used a technique which applied a big pressure on the eye and that was the scary part. For the comments I read I guess the system has changed in all those years. The doctor was really good, good English, really really nice person. Has an extensive experience. After the op, we kept in touch and he invited me to go to ski with his family... can you believe it! I could look for his name if you finally decide to go there. I think he was Dr Yoon

Yes, and DO IT. Seriously. I had it done on Dec 22 and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. My right eye is still a little behind when I'm tired, but otherwise, I'm pretty much at 20/20 (I used to wear contacts with a -7.00 RX). I went to Dream Eye Clinic in Gangnam, which was fantastic. They were very thorough and very professional. I went in at 10 am for about 2 hours of tests and consults, then came back at 2pm for the surgery which--from pre-op to me walking out the door--took a little under 2 hours. They will provide a hotel for patients coming in from out of town if you need it (I decided not to bother and came back to Gwangju after my surgery). I scheduled my surgery at the beginning of my 3 week winter break, knowing that lasek takes longer to get full vision. The first week, I was pretty useless. By the second week, I was driving during the daytime. By the time school started back up again, I was functional even though I wasn't at 20/20 yet. I had no pain, really. The third day after the surgery, my eyes felt like wearing dry contacts during a dust storm, but that was the extent of it.
To all expats who have considered Lasik or Lasek surgery, now is a great time to get it done at a very low price. The company is located near U square (building with the...
