I am looking for a vet for my 2 young female cats in the Waialua or Wahiawa area. A holistic vet option would also be appreciated. Please comment or PM me with info...

I would try the vet on Kilani. We have been going to Wahiawa Vet & they have not been able to cure Hairy's infected toe in a month. After 2 courses of antibiotic, X-ray & $850 still no improvement. We are ready to switch vets!
Dr Fujioka at Kilani Pet Clinic (Kilani St in Wahiawa). She implements Western & Eastern medicine techniques; herbs, acupuncture, infrared, cold-laser therapy, etc. 622-2607 closed on Sundays though. Good luck!

I'm so sorry for your loss. North shore vet has always been awesome with my babies. Dr Smith has been great with my babies but people don't like his "bedside manners" However... he's a great doctor Clearly Dr Jill has an awesome following. Heard great things out her. I'm so sorry again!!! My Roxy passed last June. Dr Smith was great!

Lisa L. replied:
Try Blue Cross.
Joy K. replied:
Maybe a third opinion? Waipahu told me my dog needed her tail amputated because of a lump. she would stay over night, and it wail cost $1200. Can't remember how I found Kilani Pet Clinic in Wahiawa or who referred me, but I went there, they removed the lump, she kept her tail & came home that night. The price was $350 I think. This was a few years ago. Anyway, Dr Carole Fujioka is amazing. Maybe they can help you. I'm sorry about your dog.
Celene R. replied:
Blue Cross on Kapiolani is the cheapest place on the island. Dr. Allison ran it for years and he was great. The female doctor who worked with Dr. Allison has now taken over and she is an excellent surgeon. My dog had a several deep tumors that needed to be surgically removed and VCM in Pearl City wanted $4000 MORE to do the surgery than Blue Cross. One issue is I'm not sure they have staff on site 24 hours a day anymore so if your dang needs to stay overnight it might not be a good option.
Sharon M. replied:
Or call Dr. Jill Voelks. She might know
Jessica L. replied:
Dr Nathanial Lam at VCA orthopedic speciality saved our 11 year old husky after tearing her back left knee - excellent surgeon. We used care credit 1 year no interest
Jennifer H. replied:
Dr. Leadbeater at Kahala is the best. Try them - credit card also? It sucks I know. My dog cost 20k plus in her last 6 years and our new one has already racked up 4 k in 2 years
Joan H. replied:
Try going to www.carecredit.com. They gave me $2300 credit when my dog developed spinal problems. Most vets take it, mine was Haiku in Kaneohe, good care but average customer service. I hear Blue Cross Vet on Kapiolani in town is the #1 choice all around. Good luck, vets are bloodsuckers imo...
Katie H. replied:
I used Care Credit at Waipahu Waikele when one of my dogs needed emergency surgery to remove a blockage. It was literally a lifesaver!
Theordore C. replied:
I used Care Credit at VCA Waimalu (Dr. Lum) or at VERC - - but of course they expect you to have the adequate credit available and I surprisingly I was able to get enough to cover for a torn ligament in my dog's hip - with a surgery as intricate as this, you need someone good like them -- either try a gofundme to help assist with cost - or try BlueCross Hospital in Honolulu - they are usually better with their prices - unfortunately most vets want cash or credit up front - it's awful. Praying for your baby. So is your Pet Care Card credit or insurance. the only insurance they will take upfront without billing and reimbursing you is Trupanion (at VCA) -- unfortunately most are not like human insurance, but if you can sign over the insurance payment to the doctor - they may do it....have you checked with Hawaii Dog Foundation to see if they could help you in some way?
Jenna M. replied:
We go to King Street Pet Hospital and they have been the best vet we have ever been to. Our dog tore the equivalent of her ACL which is few thousand dollar surgery (money we don't/didn't have). They were wonderful and explained to us that she would be in a little pain for a month or two, but eventually it would turn into scar tissue and she would be fine. She is back to her happy self. I highly suggest you get a second opinion from them. We saw Katharine Millen for this particular thing, but we have seen several vets there and they are great. I would recommend Millen or Dr. Goo.
need a good vet referral to remove a mass(mammory gland) from my dog. someone reasonable. vca wahiawa wants $3000, spca wahiawa turned me away. thanks

I really like Dr. Kihara at Waipahu Waikele Vet Hospital. She is young, but she is one of the few vets I've worked with that really listens to me and takes the time to get to know my animals and talk things through with me. She is always giving me options when appropriate and discussing all possible avenues. I highly recommend her!

Looking for recommendations for a veterinarian. Is there a mobile one here?
Rachel P. replied:
I like Dr Smith at North Shore Vet. We have been going there since 2014 and never had an issue. He is straight to the point and doesn't try to sell you on services you do not need or overcharge. For mobile vets you have Dr Osgood, Island Mobile Vet and one doctor whose first name is Jill I believe. I think she mainly treats cats though.
Janet L. replied:
I like NS Vet too.

only one pup or you are going to sell them? Petco has schedule for a reasonable vaccine, you need to find when and where. If you just got a new puppy I recommend goes to Vet to have health check too. I always go to North Shore vet at Waialua. He doesn't speak much but I can trust him. (reasonable too.) Micro tip, this vet was cheaper than petco. Please take care of her whole her life (if she is yours:)

I really like Mililani Mauka vet Clinic!
Rachel P. replied:
North Shore vet is awesome. I've taken both of my pups there since they were 8 weeks and have never had a single issue. Aside from the fact that the staff is great they are one of the best you'll find pricewise. You'll pay less there than the shot clinics and they are even cheaper than the on-post, military vets.

Mehana R. replied:
Dr Jill is the best. She is cheapest if you meet up with her, I believe $20. If she has to come to you it costs more.
Tori L. replied:
Dr. Lam the mobile vet fixed my cat up really well with a similar problem. He came to the house, checked it out, sold me the antibiotics and it saved me so much money. The whole ordeal cost me less than $100. He's very sweet and calm, animals seem to really like him.
Kat H. replied:
Dr. Jill Volkes is the best and chespest. Plus she will come to you.
Can anyone recommend a vet on the north shore that can stitch up a cats wound tonight?
Tori L. replied:
Dr Jill might be,able to do a house call.
