Best affordable veterinarian recommendations Hello Reddit friends,
This weekend we will be bringing home a new kitten addition to our family. We are in the North end...

Don't go to the Halifax Veterinary Hospital on Quinpool. It cost me $350 just to get a cat neutered. They take your money and don't always recommend what's best for your cat (especially if it's something they don't offer at their hospital).

I went to 4 paws on lady Hammond out of necessity to put my cat down on a Sunday. Dr Emma slater was just amazing. I can't say enough and as soon as I get a new pet I will go back to her. She didn't try to convince me to keep my poor old cat alive or to get a bunch of tests. Instead she said "if this was my cat I would give her a big snuggle and send her off" she even had tears in her eyes as she euthanized her. I've never met a vet so compassionate.

Companion Animal but only if you go to Don Slaunwhite. The younger vets there will gouge the ever-living hell out of you.

My absolute favourite vet I've ever been to with my cats is Oakland vet. It's quite a bit out of the city but she is 100% worth it. Very very reasonable prices, $16 for first needles, she dewormed my cat for free, and it was around $80 to have him neutered. The staff there are amazing. If you feel like you can make the drive to her once or twice a year it will be more than worth your time.

Lady Hammond Vet Clinic, their exam fee is half of the one I pay at a Petfocus clinic.

Another vote for 4Paws here. We've had all our pup's vaccines & checkups done with Dr. Taylor and she's lovely. Plus it's great knowing they're staffed 24/7 by an actual vet if you ever need them.

Westwood Hill Vet Clinic with Dr. Corkum. A bit of a hike (Tantallon) but they are excellent! http://petfocus.ca/westwood-hills/our-doctors.php
