Call OAR spay Neuter or UCAN. Their cost is 20.00 includes spay/neuter,, I'm pretty sure it includes shots and microchip and flea treatment.. They always check them over before surgery, and you can add any testing, worming etc for great rates. They have transports from different locations in the area These are SPAY Neuter Clinics and they have FB pages also, in Cincinnati.
Who could recommend a vet that is reasonable ..to declaw a cat..
Cindra B. replied:
I had my kitty front declawed (due to living with someone who's 91 with very very fragile skin), at brokiside in Hamilton 737-5500, you can call and ask how much. If you do get your kitty declawed, make sure you use the newspaper liter they give you, if they don't give you any then get some before your kitty comes home and make sure you continue to use it until completely healed. Using clay or sand liter can cause the behavioral issues, due to it being in the wounds and causing pain. I used the newspaper liter for an extended period of time just tip be safe. They kept my kitty overnight to ensure she wasn't rambunctious right after. They sell the nail tips at just about any pet store, if you go that route, good luck:)
Nikki B. replied:
Dr. Henehan in Loveland is $80 I think for front declaw.

HamiltonHab replied:
Although I am sure there are plenty of great Veterinarians here in Hamilton we take our 3 cats to Clappison Corners Animal Hospital up Highway 6. My wife worked there at one point so I met most of the people there socially and I can say that they really do care and want only the best for your pet. /u/canadaevil is also right, usually in the city vet prices can be higher so do shop around.

I recently got my first dog and a friend recommended Beatties. I live right downtown and don't have a car so I called some places downtown to compare prices. Beatties "healthy puppy visit" was half the price of everywhere downtown. I specifically asked a downtown vet what services are provided at the first appointment that explain the cost and they didn't have an answer other than it being the recommended rate by some professional group.
The appointment at Beatties was fine. They were friendly but I did have to wait longer than I thought I would for the appointment (probably 20 minutes after the vet assistant took me to the appointment room until I saw a vet). Didn't pressure me into the more optional vaccines which I appreciated.
harmonyhead replied:
Hi, my partner and I run a cat rescue. We have had a great deal of success with Beattie's in Stoney Creek, which I think is the closest Beattie's to Hamilton. The fees have been so low, at times, that we can hardly believe it. Even a midnight Sunday appointment. The care and advice we have received has been very valuable, too. However, I think that Beattie's Stoney Creek have been forgiving in fees particularly because we're a rescue and because we take in our neighbours' cats and dogs. Still, I think that this speaks to their business practice. It's hard for me to remember that they're a for-profit business.
canadevil replied:
Price wise there is not going to be much competition it is all going to be pricey anywhere in the city. We travel to Beamsville where it is half the cost for shots and surgeries but for emergencies I go to kingsway on King st east.

dog_knobber replied:
We've used Dundas Animal Hospital a few times now, and really enjoyed our experiences there. The vets I've dealt with really care, and are great at recommending/explaining but not "pushing" services onto you. Plus they always laugh at my dog's foolishness when we're in there, so that helps.
harmonyhead replied:
Hi all, I sent this to OP as a PM and thought that it might be useful to everyone: I recommend the Hamilton Burlington SPCA's community spay/neuter program. I think that they offer inexpensive spay/neuter, microchip and vaccination for both dogs and cats, as long as you qualify as low income. It's worth applying, no matter your income. http://hbspca.com/services/spayneuter/community-assistance
