Dear viners , can anyone help me here or suggest something .....I have a Daxie being at the vet for a week now no improvement his back legs have collapsed he has...
Jessi S. replied:
Brian, I had the same thing with my little Daxie. We were told there was nothing we could do. Surgery wasn't an option as her back was beyond repair. We had her under Ant at Kamfinsa Vet, she had a series of cortisone jabs and tablets for almost 2 months. We had to keep her separate from us in order for her to rest. 1 month later- she is able to walk again. It is a true miracle. Stay positive.
Sandy E. replied:
Hi Brian my daxie had the same problem and I took him to Dr Ross in Kensington. He corrected the displacement and all was great. You will have to be careful and not allow yours to jump down from anything high. I had a box made so he could get on and off my bed with no trouble.
Hazel W. replied:
Definitely Warren the acupuncturist or Lucinda Marffy Thorne or Shelley Fennell are the way to go....

Hi Brian I am a veterinary physiotherapist and have treated over 30 little daxies with this condition. All if which have walked again I use laser therapy and when they are stronger aqua therapy too. Ant Donohoe is the only vet here who can operate if it is an option so please take your little guy to him asap! Good luck! Shelley

Helena White what we were talking about. There is a number of pet insurance companies in South Africa. I have asked some if they cover out of the country but not much luck. Perhaps if someone contacts them and shows that a few people are interested they might consider extending the cover. https://www.facebook.c https://www.facebook.com/330938720396419 om/288306531198386 Oneplan Pet Insurance PetSure dotsure.co.za Pet Insurance

Dear Viners some advice please. Where I work there is a semi feral cat on the property. Please note we have no issues with the cat's presence and have been feeding her....
Julie W. replied:
Would suggest contact Bernard at VAWZ 0775722449, a wonderful chap who am sure would be able to give advise on how to catch it so you can take to vet
Bernice H. replied:
Call Katie, I'm sure she could assist, if you could get him / her sterilized at the same time otherwise you'll be feeding plenty more in no time x +263 7 73484210
Sue R. replied:
We got a cat trap from Vaws. Caught the cat and took her to Avondale vet who sterilised her gave her all the jabs she needed and they just asked for a donation. Bought her back to our place and she recovered fine. Still feral but always comes for her food. Hope that helps
