Recommendations for a good but reasonably priced vet around Hebron? We used to go to Hebron Animal Hospital on 237 but I think they might be a little pricey? Just need...
Becky R. replied:
I thought he was good on his shots and needed them soon but he is outdated. We are going on vacation in less than 2 weeks, need to get him in soon. Shots is all he needs, healthy otherwise. I like Hebron Animal Hospital they have just gotten too expensive for me.

Dr. Barbara Gleason runs a mobile vet service that is at the Florence Tractor Supply store on the second Saturday each month. She doesn't charge an office visit and vaccines are very reasonable. http://www.vpcclinics.com/index.html

I went to Hebron Animal Hospital years ago when the old Vet ran it Doctor Paul. Very nice and really liked him and his prices. He decided to retire and sell the business. He stayed on for a while to get the new Doctor up and running. I had an appointment with the new guy and he said to me - " can you believe he runs this place without a computer?" The old doc just used cards - when you came in the assistant would pull the animals card out of the file and it's record was written on it. After Doctor Paul left I went back and there was computers and screens in every room and the prices about doubled. Then they built the new building on Rt 237. They are a great animal hospital and very caring but when you build a new modern facility - someone has to pay for it. Look at human medical care - ain't nothing cheap any more.

As a former President of the Humane Society of KY Ive had many interactions with local vets. I can honestly say that Dr. Simpson in Walton is the best around. Hes very through and gentle and caring. I take my own dogs there. I see other reccomendations for another vet that I would not recommend but I dont want to say anything negative about any vet.

I take mine to Noahs Ark too as hebron got too pricey. Noahs Ark isn't the place to go to for major work, just shots.

Doctor Huesing on Dixie Hwy in Erlanger 859-727-4083. Very nice and you wont find anyone cheaper
Jennifer M. replied:
I was looking for a new one a while ago and after making about dozen phone calls to the other vets in the area, I found that Lawrenceburg Animal clinic (only 10 ish minutes away from Hebron area) is the cheapest for just about everything....shots, dental cleanings, surgeries, you name it. The place doesn't look as nice on the inside as Hebron Animal Clinic and it's a walk-in so you might have to wait, but if money is an issue, that's where you should go!

If I were rich I would keep going to Hebron. Dr Lloyd was great. When I went to check out though I was amazed at the prices. Noah's ark will see your pet for shots without charging a office visit I beleive. They are the exact opposite of Hebron. Doctors and techs are not very friendly but it's very affordable. People are ripping them a new one on yelp.com though.

Florence Veterinary on US 42. Dr. Davis is so kind and loving. We had many pets over the years and found him to be the best!

I use Noahs Ark Animal clinc. They are very very reasonable. Not far from hebron. I have no complaints.
Tracy H. replied:
Agreed, Hebron Animal Hospital has just got outrageous in their pricing, go to Noah's Ark in Ft. Wright, they are by far the most reasonable that I have found.
Joy R. replied:
My mom left Hebron Animal Hospital after 20 some years because of that reason. Too expensive.
Lisa C. replied:
I stopped using Hebron Animal Hospital once they moved to 237 their prices increaesd 35 %.Shelby Street Is reasonable priced and Dr Sector and the staff are Great
Amy C. replied:
We love Dr. Dan at the Florence Veterinary Hospital on 42. It's tough to get in and out of there right now because of construction, but it's reasonable and I feel like our pets get good care there. Dr. Dan is also good about not recommending a bunch of expensive, less than necessary treatments.

Dr. Barry Huesing is in Erlanger, not to far at all for the great services you get and it's family based business. He has been in business for over 30 years and saved the life of a few of my animals when I was a kid and even now. He and his wife has even met me at his office on a Sunday after telling me to call if my puppy wasn't getting any better. Not many vets care that much to take the time to do that. He is on Dixie Hwy right next to Dixie Chili in Erlanger before you enter into Elsmere. 859-727-4083
