If you are a sold trader and not a limited company, its likely you will only need a bookkeeping service and end of year tax returns. Whether youāre going to be VAT registered or not you will probably only need a book-keeper who can do the day to day stuff then pass them to an accountant end of year. Even if youāre doing VAT returns they are pretty simple and you can do them yourself on line. Invoicing etc is all straight forward common sense and itās just about being organised with keeping your paperwork and records. There are also plenty of software programs for small businesses, I used to use Quickbooks for a Sole trader who was VAT registered, however you can manage with spreadsheets to start with.
