My wife just got a dress hemmed and double-slitted at Puritan on Broad/Staples Mill. She had to ask to check the work before walking away and paying (seamstress only added one slit, instead of two) but after she got it home, she said they did awesome work. And I got four pairs of dress pants tapered -- really happy with the result. They're pretty cheap. Definitely cheaper than Oksana ([https://www.fashiondesignva.com/](https://www.fashiondesignva.com/)) who's really good, but really expensive.

My tailor is Regency Clothiers in Regency Mall. I walked in the old man behind the counter sized me up almost immediately. Super cool folks. I recommend it.

Oh yes. Let [Oksana](http://www.fashiondesignva.com/) hook you up. She is totally professional and it's clear that she knows what she's doing. She has a steady, loyal customer base. Her prices are fair. I would call for an appointment, though, because she does a lot of business, so if you don't want to wait too long, let her know you're coming. She altered my bridal gown, so I visited her shop on numerous occasions. During one of my fittings, she was tailoring a guy's suits for him. He requested the same (slim) fit you are asking for and looked flawless as she tucked and pinned him up. Seriously, go to her. I can't say enough good things about her.

After a couple bad experiences at Hong Kong Tailors I found Mone, owner of RVA tailors (http://rvatailors.com/). I can't say enough good things about her. She has good prices, a fast turnaround time and quality work.

We've used a tailor named Oksana at Fashion Design on Broad St near Parham. She has really good yelp reviews and tailored my suit perfectly, also tailored my fiancé's dress/skirt for our wedding. She comes a little pricey, but is very professional and highly recommended.

I used [Evelyn](http://www.evelyndesigns.net) for my wedding. She made all my bridesmaids dresses and altered my wedding dress. She is AMAZING. She teaches at VCU and I think she's on local TV a lot (we're FB buddies). She designs, alters, custom clothes. I think she works with River Road people a lot... I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Oksana from [Fashion Design](http://fashiondesignva.com/) gets my vote every time. She's slightly on the pricey side, but hands down the best in town. Spend the slight extra; it's worth every penny to have her work on it.

I always get my stuff done at Hong Kong. His new spot is on broad street next to Assantes. If you go on a Saturday there will be a wait, but it’s highly entertaining. He’ll make you shirts or a suit but I typically just get him to tailor suits I’ve ordered online. Pants and jacket usually run about $45 total.

I've had shirts and coats done by Nathan's (formerly at James Center on Cary. Now by appointment only, but he's been willing to come to my office before). I've had alterations done by others (ART Tailor in Carytown comes to mind), but my "starting from scratch" stuff have all been through there.
