Can anyone recommend a dentist? I always feel like my dentists are rushing through the work and/or recommending procedures I don't necessarily need. Any recommendations...

Greg L. LaVecchia DMD, PC on 1515 wilson blvd in Rosslyn is great. Great dentist, honest, and his staff are really knowledgeable/professional.

Late to the party but doctor Bruce Markoff is fantastic. I was afraid of the dentist before him and now I go regularly every six months. He is a high tech dentist, digital xrays, one visit crowns, etc. I prefer Susan as my hygienist. He's located in the same shopping center as Kate's Irish Pub and Fischer's Hardware in Springfield.

I go to Dr. Casey. Him and his father (Also, Dr. Casey) run a family dentistry in Oakton, VA. I started going to him after the dentist I had since childhood retired. I like having a good relationship with my dentist and Dr. Casey is very active in the local community, especially with Pewee Football. Both Dr. Caseys are very nice, friendly guys, and always very professional. I have also had great experiences with the Hygenists they employ. http://www.caseyfamilydentistry.com/

If you're out in the northern PWC area, I love Gainesville Dental Associates. They have a very streamlined operation designed to get you in and out while only doing what's in your best interest and what you want them to do. I've been going to them for 4 years now and have yet to be disappointed.

[Dr.Bakhtyari](http://www.premierdentalcareva.com/) (Premier Dental Care VA) in Herndon is good. The hygenist is great - very thorough, helpful, and not judgemental. I've been going for a few years and the only dental work that I've had done (or has been recommended) was a filling.

I've been seeing [Dr Frosbergh](http://fusiondentalgroup.com/Locations/Reston.aspx) since I moved here in '89
I really like him, but I also don't know beyond "not getting screwed over" what you're requirements are. tbh he doesn't baby people, which is why I like him - he's going to tell me I need to floss more, how to prevent stains and, yes, a reminder that i need to quit smoking. But it's because he doesn't want to one day fill my head with porcelain and metal, so I can appreciate that. I don't think he does any of that sedation dentistry, but I don't consider him sadistic either, I don't fear the dentist. All of the staff are very nice and knowledgeable and as far as I know they take all insurances.

This concerns me, where have you been going where you felt like they were doing this? I need to avoid them.

Dr. David Bertman in Burke, VA. His office isn't the fanciest, but he's a fantastic dentist, a great person, and really takes his time with patients.
Shelby update - she did great with the teeth extraction! She needed a double dose of pain blocker but other than that, the dentist said that she did better than most...
