Residential Interior Painter recommendations for Fairfax County Since you guys were all so great (thank you!) with your movers' recommendations, I'm going back to the...

whatever you do, for the love of god, do NOT use "Mr Yoo's Painting", if you could even manage to find that asshole. he has zero internet presence, he just scrapes by with word-of-mouth and offering his services. He outright lied to us, used the wrong (cheaper) paint, did a shitty job, etc. Our realtor recommended him...she had been awesome and on the ball but I let her know what a royal F-up Mr Yoo was.

Paul Sullivan's Total Painting Service. I've been a professional painter for about 10 years (part time/on the side now) and I worked for him for 3 years. I cannot recommend him enough.

I've used [Horizon Painting](http://www.yelp.com/biz/horizon-painting-falls-church) on a number of occasions. It's two brothers that do the majority of the work with a few assistants. Painting is usually fairly straightforward, but these guys are experienced enough to see a problem and figure out why it started in the first place. In addition, they test out most of the materials they use beforehand (unless you request a specific brand of paint), so they are able to recommend the best product for each job. The really cool thing is that Aldo (the brother that handles the business end of things) is also a master carpenter. This way they are able to tackle most problems that come up by themselves - they don't need to sub-out any carpentry to another contractor. Their prices are extremely reasonable, and I really like dealing with them. I originally found them using [Checkbook magazine](http://www.checkbook.org/), which had them rated very highly. I certainly agree with that sentiment. I believe they are also rated highly on Angie's List (I haven't been a member in a while, so I can't check now). I'll admit that their small size scared me at first, but I actually ended up appreciating it because it forces them to only work one job at a time - they won't leave you in the middle of a job for another one.

From Sandee Strobel: Does anyone know of a reputable Grandfather clock mover and repair shop? A friend has one in storage and is giving it to me but I have to have it...

Herndon Clock and Watch...he can do the repair if necessary and he can probably prepare it for moving. All you have to do to move it is to take off the weights and pendulum. There *should* be a clamp that keeps things from moving when it is moved. It might be better to move it first and THEN repair it. Dung Lam: 703-709-0234. He does have very specific hours that he can come to your home and he books up fast.
