Hi all! We are going to be new to your area very soon, and I was wondering if there is a local Gym? We are in Kelseyville and don't know our way around just yet. Also...

Boggs Forest in Cobb for hiking. There is a couple exercise places in Middletown, one in Hidden Valley... As for organic foods, you will have to wait for the farmers markets, or the co ops. Hardesters has some organic, but not a big selection.

There's a yoga place in Kelseyville, at 3970 Main Street (it's in a little arcade with an opening between the storefronts, so its off the street and quiet) and they have tai chi, pilates, and circuit machines, too. The owner, Mary, is great, funny, and nice. https://www.facebook.com/Transformationsyogakelseyville

There's a "health food" store in Lakeport on Lakeport Blvd. They get fresh produce in on Tuesdays. For another place, closer to K-ville, try Ma Greer's produce stand, 5990 Kelsey Creek Drive. You can call first to see when she's going to be open and what she has available. 707-279-1560. Her stuff is beautiful, and prices are great. She raises everything and it's all organic. Her eggs are AWESOME!

AlyssaKrystle Heibel - prepare to drive over the mountain every time you need to buy much of anything, or become very up close and personal with Amazon. When I moved here 3 years ago, I was told that there were two department stores in Lake County. And then I found out they were talking about Walmart and Kmart. OMG!!!

Walking - the state park on Soda Bay Road is nice. Hiking - the trail up Mt. Konocti that starts in Kelseyville is beautiful and challenging. The road to it is near the high school and goes past Taylor Observatory (fun to visit when they have programs). Highland Springs is also near Kelseyville, and is beautiful. It's a great place to picnic and swim in the summer. The water is clear, unlike our poor, green Clear Lake.

The closest gym to kville is in lakeport. If you find your way to HVLA we at MuscleMatrix Gym will make it worth the drive!:)

I am looking for a good local personal trainer In the Middletown, Hidden Valley or Clearlake area. I am treating myself to a Christmas gift and want to get back into...

Lara Keyser is amazing. Her and her husband Nate Keyser own MuscleMatrix Gym. Love them!!
Briana G. replied:
I second Lara Keyser

Lara Keyser can also give you a schedule of the classes at the gym. I personally teach Insanity which is a major calorie burn kind of a class and also helps build lean muscle. I also teach Zumba up on Cobb. You are definitely surrounded by a ton of classes to choose from between Cobb, Middletown and HVL. Hope to see you at the gym =)

Are there cross fit classes anywhere around here??
Lara K. replied:
Small group private training can be done in a similar style as Crossfit at my gym MuscleMatrix Gym. If you would like info you can call me at 707-472-7526 or pm me :) Hardcore and competition (even if you are just competing against yourself) are two of my favorite things!
MuscleMatrix Gym is awesome, you enter with a personal door code to find clean machines and great staff to help you. The rates and classes are great as well!!
