Google BMI, who have clinics everywhere, including Chiltern Hospital at Great Missenden, and the Shelburne at Wycombe General. Have used them 4 times over the last 2 years. Excellent,! Your own GP can also refer you to a private clinician.
Mel V. replied:
The Chiltern hospital is fantastic

Tower House Surgery on West Wycombe Road:) Cant get any closer then that and been with them for years.
Tina C. replied:
Tower House are brilliant in my opinion, have been with them all my 50 years, going back to the Dr Bath/Budden/Davies days, can't fault them, always polite. More often than not they will fit you in the same day or the next.
Lmbl L. replied:
Tower House have a bit on their website to put your postcode into to see if you are in their new patient practice boundary.
Sally H. replied:
I've been with Tower Surgery for over 20 years. The dr's, nurses, health visitors and staff have always been wonderful, they have always seen me on the day if I have said it's an emergency appointment and I've never had a complaint.
Helen C. replied:
I'm another one who recommends Tower House surgery, absolutely great
Victoria T. replied:
I'm at Riverside Surgery, do not move there the receptionists are so rude. I suggest Priory Surgery, that is where my dad goes and I'm looking into moving to, they are absolutely brilliant whenever I've gone with him to an appointment
Jenni C. replied:
Tower House Surgery on West Wycombe Road is the best in my opinion. Don't forget that medical receptionists are the gatekeepers protecting the medical staffs' precious time from people who don't need medical attention because they are perfectly capable of self-treating at home with advice from the pharmacist; particularly if you are asking for a same day appointment. For example, people who insist on seeing a doctor for the common cold.... In my experience, if you are polite to the receptionist, they are polite to you.
Is there any private GPs in the local area? I need to get something sorted that my usual GP just doesn't seem to do anything about.

Ask your GP for a referral to an orthopaedic specialist - there are some who work out of the Shelbourne at Wycombe Hospital. Or, if you don't trust your GP to even do this, just phone the Shelbourne - they will sort out an appointment. Most appointments should be less than £200 for a consultation, but they will tell you the price up front. If you think it might be muscle / soft-tissue, someone like Steve Lodge might be able to help - physio's do diagnosis, not just rehab. He said I had Housemaid's Knee, which I do, but also managed to reduce the swelling and gave me exercises to reduce the symptoms.
Does anyone else really struggle to loose the weight they put on since diagnosis? Its really getting me down now. Put on 2 stone and would love to shed one of them but...

Jill: I don't think I could stick to the 5:2 diet. Girl I work with brought the book into work and both of us agreed there is now way we could do the 2 days off. Looked at SW and WW but I find all the having to remember points, days, colours etc. a bit too confusing for me.
