Not enough doctor's surgeries for the increase of residents..... and poor staff if your not sure you can get through during the day wait til the close and your get through to the night time doctors at Wycombe hospital get through and get a appointment within 30 mins
Andrew S. replied:
I've been with Kingswood for years and years. Yes getting through in the phone can be problematic but they are oversubscribed and as someone said they can't close their books to new patients. Very few GP services in that area of town. Most of my visits there are to see the Nurse for travel vaccinations. If I want to see a Doctor I get there when the doors open and book one in person. Have used Wye Valley surgery in town for Rabies jabs which Kingswood don't do and they seem great. Kingswood are recruiting another nurse and another GP.

Priory surgery are fab ALWAYS had on the day when needed and been able to call in the afternoon and still been seen same day. Parking is an issue and getting a blood test done but the walk in haematology at WGH is a good service!
Rosie G. replied:
I can recommend Tower House surgery, can often get an appointment on the day if you call on time and if not they can arrange for a doctor to phone you back. They are good if I tell them it's for my daughter as well, only ask 'is it necessary you see a doctor today?' (Pointless as they only let you make appointments on the day
Kyra A. replied:
Priory surgery are really good, can't fault them. I always get through on the first call and get an appointment on the day too or will receive a phone call from one on the doctors on the day. I receive text messages from the surgery to remind me of my appointments with my midwife as well. The only annoying thing is the receptionist always asks what's the problem, but I got this with my last doctors too!
Lauren L. replied:
I knew this would be Kingswood you were talking about! I've been in the same boat trying loads to even get in the phone queue. The thing that winds me up most is you will be on hold as caller 5,4,3,2,1 for sometimes up to an hour!!!! Really how long does it take to deal with 5 phone calls?! I'm only ever on the phone to them for a minute! It's obvious what happens when you go into the surgery as you will have receptionists ignoring phone calls even if there is nobody waiting at the front desk! I can't fault the service when I am actually given an appointment and have to sit waiting for ages past my appointment time. Once I had an appointment with a doctor and he told me to book a follow up and when I tried the receptionist told me my issue was one that a nurse could see to, I had to argue with her for about 5 minutes and finally she checked my notes and saw the note from my doctor telling me he wanted to see me again! My boyfriend keeps trying to convince me to move to Carrington house, he said it's really great there and I don't ever see him struggling to get an appointment! I think I will have to now I know the situation will only get worse because they can't close their books!!! Sad because I like the doctors at Kingswood although now Dr Kapoor has left and he was the best doctor
