Extraorindary Desserts- two locations one in little italy the other on fifth avenue downtown SD. Hexagone- on Laurel street downtown, good food, bit pricey more date like. Also french Wine Steals- Hillcrest, wine, urban look (look in Hillcrest for the more trendy restaurants. La Gran Tapa- B street downtown. latin american food, salsa music, good sangria. Wine Vault and Bistro- India Street in Mission Hills. Super trendy they have maybe 6 tables, over looks the bay and downtown. Great food and wine. I'd avoid Ruth Chris and go to Flemings in La Jolla if you want steak. If you can get a car or taxi Solana Beach has good places too.
