Judging by the heat outside, it's clearly summertime and that means lots of BBQing over hot coals is happening over the next couple months. BBQ ribs,...

I live down south, so for me, it's all about Shiver's. http://www.shiversbbq.com/

Having spent years visiting the Carolinas, where BBQ is at another level, what we are talking about here, remember, is which local BBQ establishments are, in our opinion, worthy of our money. It's like asking the same question of mexican food, and then remembering, but wait, then there's the street stands in Puerto Vallarta, so what are we even talking about? That being said, in my opinion, locally, Shiver's is hands down the best, period. Then, sitting at the counter at Sparky's, listening to the music, the incredible smokey flavor of the meat and those succulent sauces as an afterthought (and yes, banana pudding) would be the other place; if you're not in the mood for a journey to homestead. Was at The Pit a few months ago and sad to say the food was inedible and the place was filthy. Shorty's is a place for nostolgia, not for BBQ. Have heard good things about TJ but have never been so nothing to add, other than I have been told at one time it was better. Last thought, opinions are like a part of the anatomy, everyone has one. Go eat BBQ, decide for yourselves.

Joe lets go to Tom Jenkins or The Georgia Pig some day.

Sparky's Roadside Barbecue is my favorite BBQ joint in Miami. Seriously too good and all of their sauces are home made.

Tom Jenkins in Fort Lauderdale. Hands down the best!
Chad T. replied:
The Georgia Pig is the best bbq sandwich ever. Nothing on this list compares and I've been to them all. Tom Jenkins is my 2 nd pick, followed by Sparky's - a distant 3 rd. For ribs or anything else, you might as well go out of state.
35 miles away from Miami. Can anyone suggest an Indian restaurant in the city that opens at 12 noon? Want to have good Indian food before we set to cruise! Thanks.
