Looking for a vet- Bailey is due for more flea treatment/heartwormer, so I have to take him to a vet that won't cost too much. I'm living in Kaimuki, does anyone know...
Mike S. replied:
We love Dr. Hisanaga at Waikele Pet Hospital but that's kinds far away from town.
Marsha O. replied:
I love Dr. Dean too. They are not cheap though but they are good. We get our Trifexus there. What I like about them is they are open 7 days a week and have emergency hours.
Gayle R. replied:
Candace Calloway Whiting its easy to find and any doctor at this Vet Hospital is wonderful Lily Snow had an OOps recently and it took 3 or 4 vets doing surgery on her trying to figure out how to get the come'along S hook off her jaw. We have been back with the pups and different vets were coming out and asking how Lily Snow was doing. Just shows what a team effort it was and how much they all care. Waipahu-Waikele Pet Hospital Rocks... everyone is really nice, its clean, and they are open 24 hours like Marsha Otani said which is a plus when you own pets...

I've been in the Waipahu-Waikele Pet Hospital and it seems very good, clean and professional. There's a very inexpensive clinic in Kaimuki, very much like a barebones community clinic for humans. It's run by Dr Timothy Lau. I used to take my dog to him years ago when Dr Lau was in an area called Kalihi. I had neighbors who recommended him to me and a friend who's family cannot spend much on their dogs and they also swear by Dr Lau. As long as you are aware they are a no-frills operation, you will probably find good value for your dollars. http://www.yelp.com/biz/kalihi-pet-clinic-honolulu
My dog hates to get her nails trimmed! Does anyone recommend any sedative so she can relax while getting her nails trimmed? #vet #pet #veterinarian #dog

Leonard Letoto
Christopher B. replied:
Yancey Unequivocally connect with Leonard Letoto. He's a trainer out in Hawaii. I know him professionally and have also been a client. He works with very behavior prone animals often and is a fantastic individual.
Does anyone have suggestions for Alexandria who lives in Waianae?

Kapalama Pet Hospital. or The VCA, but they are really expensive and give steriods when not really needed
Michelle P. replied:
Waipahu Waikele Vetimarry clinic are the best! Dr Achu or Dr Nagasato. Friendly and Professional, recalls your dog from time to time and treats them like their own. Love them!
Jessica R. replied:
I have the same vet as Michelle:) love Dr Nagasato
Brad S. replied:
I use Kokua Pet Clinic in Kalihi. They're super cheap, and have been very good to me and my dogs over the years. VCA is a rip off if you ask me.
Does anyone have any vet recommendations in the Honolulu/Aiea area?!
Laura T. replied:
We love Aina Haina Pet Hospital in Kaimuki. Might be a little far for you though.
Julie L. replied:
We used island mobile vet. Dr Osgood
Aprilani M. replied:

Virginia friends where do you take your dogs. We go to vet on Elkin but any other places? Fenway has something going on with the area around his eye we need to get...
Ellen H. replied:
Hybla Valley vet on Rt. 1 (conveniently near a Dunkin Donuts...). Great experience there.
Deana C. replied:
Probably too far for you to drive but we loved our vet at Burke Animal Clinic. He took great care of Pele in his last year.
Ange M. replied:
We always went to Del Ray Animal Clinic. I hope he's ok!!
Liz J. replied:
We took Cleo to Crosspointe Animal Hospital in Fairfax Station. I believe they gave a military discount but can't not 100% sure. I can't imagine something like that being outrageously costly. If it involved surgery or something, it may be more but Fenway's health is worth it:)

Hayfield Animal Hospital
