Hannah will soon be moving to Horley Town with her young child and is wondering if anyone could recommend a Doctor's Surgery to register with. Thank you.
Beverley Y. replied:
My Clerklands Surgery on Vicarage Lane have been fab, Dr Amanda Greengrass especially!
Vivienne F. replied:
As Hannah has a young child, it probably wont apply, but as a pensioner, who doesn't drive and can't walk very well, I find that some of my hospital visits or things like mammogram appts always get booked at Crawley or Crawley Down, which is more difficult for me to get to than East Surrey Hosp at Redhill.Apparently it because their main surgery is based in Crawley, which is covered by East Sussex and not Surrey. My neighbour is with Birchwood and doesn't have these problems. No problems with the Dr's I've seen at Clerklands, Dr Stanley is my favourite, but rarely there as he also covers Crawley, but Dr Yates is fine.
Jo L. replied:
Wayside Surgery, never had any problems, buts that's only my view ;) Dr Williamson is lovely, in fact all the Drs there are:)
Ali S. replied:
Dr Sarah Yates, Clerklands. They do phone consultations, leave prescriptions or call you in if need to see you.
Jo needs to register with a doctor in the area. Are they all willing to accept new patients do you know ? Thank you.
Lived here for 2yrs now and thought best I start...

Isn't it funny how one man's meat is another man's poison. I have been with Wayside for 34 years and have never had a problem - apart from the horrendous appointment system which is common with all Doctor practices today - not like the good old days. The practice is smaller and therefore you are, more often than not, able to see the same doctor from the beginning of an ailment through to the end. I think medical continuity is very important. Dr. Dormer was a great loss though.

Any GP surgery within your catchment area will accept you, but if it's outside your catchment area they may refuse you. Good luck if your teeth hurt though!
