Due to the recent passing of my favorite family doctor, I received referrals on 2 primary care physicians in the immediate area....Kevin Giglio, M.D. ( N.Loop West ) ...
Dian P. replied:
Terry, we have used Dr. Giglio for years and have all the confidence in the world in him!!!
Kimberly A. replied:
I'm just shocked! In the 20+ years Dr. Giglio has been my doctor, I have never, ever known him to be mean-spirited or anything but helpful. We discuss options and decide, together, on the best plan of treatment.
Lorie R. replied:
So now my chain has been pulled. Since we have had first hand experiences with all of the asses mentioned herein, here goes...When Giglio was with Ardoin that was fine. Then they split and I stayed with Ardoin...great. Gigilio's office staff were asses (since that is the term d'jour--ha) and then Kevin himself became and ass (really bummed my husband out because he and Kevin were paisanos) and his wife worked in the office and was always an ass and that could explain the staff. Anyway, we both ended up with Ardoin. Awesome! Then he leaves to go take over the hospital and sells his practice without noticing patients...ass...to the Tran Thomas Tag Team. Met them and did an interview with Sally who couldn't understand why we wanted to inquire about their treatment style, prescribing practices, staff policies, why she she chose to be a DO vs MD, etc. Stayed with them until Sally didn't come back after she left to have kids (fine..don't begrudge her that...do have a problem with them failing to have a plan to serve the practice they bought when she did) then Van became overwhelmed, botched a job removing a cyst on my husband (should have referred him to a specialist) that literally took 5 years to resolve....no joke. Then came the PA from hell...Nurse Ratchet personified...was well more than an ass...and a dumb ass to boot. Prescribed me meds that I could not take after questioning her what seemed like 50 times before I left, assured me it was ok and when I got home with it (remember I was sick folks and didn't read the ingredients before I left the drive through....she was right, remember?) and it had the crap in it I could not take and the pharmacy said the insurance wouldn't pay for more of the right stuff 'cause they had just covered the other stuff!! Ass! Totally unloaded on Van and said that was BS and that I didn't care if he went to CVS picked it up and brought it to me, he was gonna cover the cost. Oh, and this was after bird dogging him via the answering service because the office asses lied and said he wasn't in when he said he actually was. And, each time we spoke there were screaming toddlers in the background. Where was Sally? Nanny? Somebody? He could have at least gone into a closet for 5 seconds to talk to his patient that had been mistreated and as a result could have died if she had taken the medicine that the PA ass prescribed and was sure was ok. THEN, they wouldn't give a referral to our Opthalmologist of 20+ years without a visit first. Seriously? You want me to pay a co-pay to give me a BLANKING form? Isn't that insurance fraud? That coupled with the ever growing displays if non-comedogenic makeup, weight loss fat burning whatever products, 45 min wait times, and suggestions to refer people to his chiropractor brother next door, we pulled our files. Interviewed doctors for 6 mo. thereafter and landed with Alison Blazek, IM and she is AWESOME! Smart, young, current, cutting edge technology, communicates via e-mail if you'd like, everything is electronic, SHE'S a normal doctor who practices the Golden Rule! Amazing! She's at 20 th and Rutland. (713) 880-2311owlblazek@gmail.com We're through with asses. Who started this discussion?
Pamela A. replied:
I have 2 friends who have been going to Dr. Giglio for years, and really like him. I don't feel he's thorough. My mother in law saw him. She felt bad, and he said she had gotten overheated. Never end took her BP. She felt bad all weekend, then had heart attack early Monday a.m.
Pamela A. replied:
I've been taking the boys to Village Family Practice on I 10 at Campbell. I've been pleased. They always have someone to see you, and evening and Saturday appointments if you're really sick (urgent care).
Terry J. replied:
Thank you all for your input - here private messages and emails. Now even more to choose from. Dr. Richard T Swenson's shoes will be tough to fill, but I am confident a good practitioner in the area is mine to be had. Thank you again.
Lorie R. replied:
Kevin David it was Jana Fuller Froehlich who mentioned Dr. Young. I don't know him. Glad he's on the good list. Yes, a rant for sure. There was a rave as well...for Dr. Blazek...hope you saw that too.
Elizabeth V. replied:
We have found a doctor my mom and I both love - my mom's a retired RN from the OR at Methodist and when she approves of a Dr. - it's a good one! Dr. Shari Rubin - currently on maternity leave - at Associates in Medicine - is WONDERFUL. Her father was a well known and beloved GP, and doctors themselves see Dr. Rubin and her colleagues in this practice. They are easy ! to get to. Right behind the Junior League at 4543 Post Oak Place Dr - Ste 105 - (713) 797-1087. No paying for parking, always easy parking, lab in the office, x-ray in the office - while she's out, I'm seeing Dr. Vu - he's good, too. I'm sorry your doctor passed away !
Jana F. replied:
Dr. Donald Young is my parents primary care physician & I cannot stand the man! I do NOT recommend him at all!!
Looking for recommendations for a family doctor / pediatrician for our 3 yr old in the GOOF area. Currently using Dr. Torres on Ella. She's nice but keeps her patients...

Diana Eisner, 713-688-8393 2030 North Loop West, Suite 125...77018 My 3 yr old son loves her. Never have to wait.
Brandy N. replied:
Dr Greeley is wonderful, but she is not there 5 days a week, she is VERY difficult to see and the other doctors are not constant. They have had a revolving door of other doctors in the practice the past 3 years. We rarely were able to see Greeley and each time it was a different doctor. Plus no night or weekend hours.

Dr. Melissa Celi-Montoya.
Isela V. replied:
I really like Dr Torres, but you are right about the wait & it seems to have gotten worse . When I mentioned it to her, she said it was unusual circumstances with patient right before me. I think if she was my LO's pedi, and I'd brought baby in sick, I would've had a melt down after an hour waiting.
Mary L. replied:
We use Dr. Richard Thaller as do about ten of our friends and growing. Never had to wait more than 15 minutes or so. Easy to get to at I10/Campbell. He's AWESOME!
Carrie H. replied:
I swear, Dr. Thaller must work 18 hours a day. Everyone I know goes to him, including my kiddo! He is the absolute best, hands down.
Angela S. replied:
2600 N Loop W, Ste 100, 77092. Dr. Neva Greeley is awesome! 713-869-1692

Dr. Michelle Shuman in Thaller's practice is also very good!
Annie B. replied:
We use Dr Thaller as well, and LOVE him!!
Lorraine C. replied:
I use Dr. Torres also. You are not exaggerating about the wait!
Andy W. replied:
We also go to Dr Shuman. The staff is great and we never wait.
