Does anyone know of a Rheumatologist in the Houston area that has experience with Retroperitoneal Fibrosis? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Sarah, Yahoo group (at ) has a database with much more info. No Rhumos, but a bunch of Drs -most Uros- who know about RF & treatment. Perhaps one of these can tell you where to go:

Pete, Ask if he has a preference for any particular treatment. One of his papers which the Yahoo group has in its FILES makes a statement that they do. Be interesting to hear what he says to patients. And be aware that Imuran & Cellcept have shown some really good statistical results re mass reduction.
I've been seeing Dr Alissa in San Marcos for a few years....I really like him....and his office staff is great.

Dr. Alissa has been great to me. I've seen him for about 3 years and when he couldn't get my arthritis under control he was always calling me & checking up on me. Keeping me hopeful that he would find something that works for me. Finally last summer he found meds that work for me.

Sally Daniel, I'm sorry, I meant Paul Pickrell. His brother, Michael, stopped practicing. I didn't care for his bedside manner, but Paul is exceptional!
Hi,
I have hyper mobility type and have been having a lot of pain in my wrist and baby finger. I work in communications, so I am constantly on the computer. I am seeing...
Holly B. replied:
As well as braces I use arthritis gloves which compress the wrist comfortably (Im a programmer so am at the computer a LOT!) That might help. Also I have to have some kind of cloth or warm thing where I rest my wrist as the desk is too cold and that exacerbates things. I also alternate between one handed typing depending which hand is worse and am thinking of getting a Frogpad: http://www.frogpad.com/store.php to help type one-handed quicker

Try Houston Methodist Rheumatology Associates. A few good ones there and multiple locations.
