I'm gonna check some City Directories...I'm back at the HPL. Big Brothers and Star Market both appear in the 1963 City Directory and the address for A&P does not, let alone A&P; it shows up in 1964. So those two are older, but I'm not researching them further right now to see HOW much older they are. Star Market may have that info on their website.

I was asst. mgr. at Holiday Foods for 4 yrs. in the early 80 s.

Again, the address 2701 Patton Road does not show up prior to 1964. A&P's in 1963 are listed at: 219 Green Street, SE 2310 Memorial Parkway, SW 1962: Ditto 1959 Ditto During the earlier days, it switched from 2311 to 2310 on the Pkwy. 1955 Yellow Pages Only the Green Street location In this one, Big Brothers only shows up at 1406 Whitesburg Drive. Done for tonight. Probably. ha

That sure is where I got my lobster tails. It was A&P. When I moved back here is 79, it was Holiday Foods.

Just changed owners and cleaned it up a little. I really hope they can change it for the good as across the street is where they are going to be putting in the Neighborhood Market in the next few years. I live in the neighborhood behind HF
