Does anyone know of a good English speaking Paediatrician here on the island? My baby was born here, and I chose not to have the immunisations they wanted me to give him...

Thanks so much Patrick! Xx Dominique Annaliese .. Firstly congratulations! I'm sure you are counting the days .... I wish you, and your baby a wonderful birth... Xxx I just thought I would wait for a while until my baby was a little stronger and I could really take an informed balanced choice about the vaccinations. My baby turned breech in my labour, and I needed a Caesarian section. The birth and recovery was very traumatic for both my baby and I, so I wanted to have some time away from hospitals for him and I, to heal from our birth story. The Paediatrician I was given didn't speak English, and as my Spanish is limited, I couldn't properly ask all the questions I wanted, or understand the answers so well. I decided to leave it for a while, and get to know my baby properly, before looking into it again. We have only travelled to London and Greece since his birth, so I felt he wasn't at any risk. We do travel a lot as a family, and that's why I now want to speak to a Doctor, who has a more understanding view of what immunisations are really necessary as a Global Travelling family. Obviously my baby's health is the most important thing in all of this..... And I would never want to put him at risk. I just didn't want to be pressurised into putting him through any more stress or fear, until I had given proper thought and research into what was best for him. Xxxxx

when my daughter started at San Carlos Spanish school, they needed a list of her vacinations.
Claire B. replied:
Andreas palberg at Rosario hospital is a really good German paediatrician who speaks perfect English. We had an unrushed really long chat with him about vaccinations during our appointment. He will give you the best advice to his knowledge and respects the parents decisions on how to care for their children even if different from the advice he gives.
Cathryn A. replied:
Dr Alfonso Galvan. He has been my sons pediatrician since birth 3 years ago and is now my daughters. Studied and worked in Uk and is Spanish. Cannot recommend him enough, he is so hands on and in no hurry to medicate your children. Often takes a natural, holistic route, if possible. Vaccination is very much a personal choice for your children, however, if too Many people choose not to vaccinate their children, the vaccines will no longer be effective and many diseases will return, such as measles etc. A certain percentage of the population needs to take the vaccine in order for it to have a "blanket" effect and work.

If you have the health card you could go to Can Misses or also to your Health Center.. It could work. No idea about the waiting list, it can be long.. I had lot of stomach pain during one year ("previous nerves/extress"), and finally I had to quit milk and lot of meals (wheat..) and all the drinks, coffes, beer, wine etc.. I was strict until I felt fine again. But I am totally recover. So keep trying!!! Also, sometimes natural medicine can help it. Take it easy and best luck..!

Go to see Dr Blume in Jesus for now; he's very reasonable. Then get your shit together and get a social security number and health card if you can't get an E111 to tide you over..... There are full details on empadronamiento in the Ibiza Airline group and the social security part is dead easy anyway - search for Sharma 's post from a couple of months ago....
