He is also natural minded. If he thinks a supplement will help vs a prescription he will tell you! Did I mention that I LOVE HIM?

I am in search of a good vet in the area that may consider doing a payment plan. We have had a little emergency with one of my little dogs and we need to get him in to...
Lesli U. replied:
Dr. Wingert at Indep Animal Hosp is great. They take walk-ins (not sure about payment plans) but I've heard awesome things about Dr. Means in W-burg also! Here is their link- http://ianimalh.com/index.htm
Sue S. replied:
Dr. Means by all means, he is the best.
Bethany C. replied:
Dr. Means in Warrensburg is great! He's very cheap and has helped our dogs. If you walk in get there EARLY! There's always a lengthy wait. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Crain...he's pretty pricey.
Carol J. replied:
Dr. Means in Warrensburg. Alpine Pet Clinic. He is wonderful with animals. Doesn't like people much but he is very good with animals. That's where I go.
Beverly G. replied:
Dr. Means in Warrensburg. He loves animals not much of a people person but a great vet and very reasonable
Patricia A. replied:
Use Dr. Means in Warrensburg. He is very wonderful, loves all animals & Iss very very cheap compared tom any others. Lives by his clinic & checks on the animals at all hours and will call you if he needs to regardless of what time it is.
Chad N. replied:
Alpine in Warrensburg will work out payments but they are so cheap you usually dont need to. Dr. Means has absolutley no people skills but is incredible with animals and does it because he cares!
Don R. replied:
Dr. Means in warrensburg he is a wonderful vet and very cheap
Mike S. replied:
have seen Dr Scott couple times but never anyone else. will have to ask cuz even talked to peddicord bout my daughter going there for a few days to see what vets do. he said was ok but had age limits
Jack Z. replied:
Dr Scott is good
Charity G. replied:
I was told today was the first official business day under the new owner. That they would no longer accept payments. Dr. Peddicord is still doing horses but not small animals anymore. Just what I was told. I need someone who can work with us. My dog broke a tooth and is in quite a bit of discomfort. And being a short month, I wasn't prepared for something like this.
Charity G. replied:
And it's not about the vet or the quality. I am not saying anything bad about Odessa Animal Clinic. I have a great deal of respect for them and appreciate all they have done for me. It's just a matter of needing care for my dog and can't afford it right this minute.
Nikki D. replied:
Alpine Clinic in Warrensberg
Angie D. replied:
Independence Animal Hospital on Noland Road.. Dr. Wingert is wonderful... a little drive but they saved my dog from parvo and cut my bill down to 1/4 the original cost
Charity G. replied:
I already talked to Odessa Animal Clinic. They are my vet. I have done payments before. But he sold it t o Dr. Crouch (?). He is still doing horses but no longer small animal. I was very surprised myself. And Dr. Scott is still there. But they have new policies now.
Megan B. replied:
Oak Grove Animal Clinic. I'm not sure if they do payment plans, but I've never had issues with them
Violet C. replied:
Mike Obrien might help you at Jackson County Animal Clinic in Grain Valley.. he does payments for some..
Marsha K. replied:
Dr Means is amazing with animals. He was never rude. Just blunt. He is great with animals and very reasonable.
Twyla S. replied:
yes, try Dr Means, my sisters use him all the time, and even if he has to keep the dog, his prices are extremely low in comparison.....
Stephanie C. replied:
Dr Means is great he had to do surgery on my dog eye due to a tumor . He try to save it several weeks later had to remove it . For 8 weeks of follow ups, medicine, two two day and night stays all added up to 175.00 . That included surgery another vet told us it would of cost us way over 1000 at most offices for those kind of services.
Jennifer B. replied:
My mother in law uses Dr Means and has said the same thing. He's a wonderful, cheap vet but not a pleasant person. It makes me sad that Peddicord sold out. I've taken my dogs there for over ten years. I mainly see Dr Scott. I hate that they won't accept payments anymore. I understand ppl not paying their bills but I would never let an animal suffer because the owner couldn't afford it that day. I hope the new owner knows what he is doing. A lot of changes to a small town business can make it go downhill quick.
Does anyone have a physician they are really happy with? Looking to change, open to recommendations, someone around blue springs, independence, Lee's Summit area. And no...
Candace J. replied:
I always thought it was funny that they had a hospital off of a road called 'RD Mize'. 100 NW Mock Ave Blue Springs, MO 64014 (816) 220-9080 Either he or his nurse practitioner has a cell all the time. The staff is friendly and the doc is awesome. Even though he's an internal doc, he will treat you for anything.
Julie P. replied:
Dr. Pourakbar is good, and they do a lot in house, even pharmacy. I have been there before.
Shannon M. replied:
Dr Anna Wagner in blue springs. I like her. I still see her even now that I live in liberty.
Tonya S. replied:
Dr. Tara Clark. She's in the Blue Ridge Bank & Trust building near Walmart (where the mall used to be). She's the first doctor I had that ACTUALLY read my concerns before coming into the room and then addressed them, one by one.
Candace J. replied:
Do not go to Dr. Powers in Blue Springs. I just go to my internal doc for anything, Dr. Woltgen. He's right across from St Mary's and he answers the phone 24/7.

PCP that will sign off on medical paperwork I currently have my license, but would like to change my PCP to one that will not refuse to sign the paperwork. Anybody know...
billykent24 replied:
Good luck and let us know what you find! It seems very rare to find a PCP willing to step up to the plate and sign a recommendation for medical cannabis. The reason is while it is still federally illegal, that would risk there ability to get paid through medicare, medicade or any similar federal medical assistance.
brydy23 replied:
I’m almost 100% positive no physician associated with any major medical institution right now in at least the St. Louis area will sign off on it. Source: I’ve worked in the hospital world for a while. You may have to do some research if any private physicians will. I honestly think it’s worth the hassle for telemedicine, but I know not everyone has the funds for that.
someoldguyon_reddit replied:
There's always telemedicine but you're going to pay out of pocket.
bmacklin31 replied:
My PCP said he was fine with me getting my card, but said he couldn’t sign off on it. I sent my records from him to nuggmd and the doctor their signed off on it
2nonblondes replied:
I was on the Missouri website and I am going to try my PCP next week. I have an appointment anyway, he’s been talking about wanting to be a MMJ doctor the entire 20 years I’ve known him. Plus, if you send in 2 alternate physician certification forms from doctors who have both treated your condition you can qualify for more than 4 ounces a month, not that I need that much but you never know what could happen. I know I’m not the only one who’s had one of their medications pulled, changed, reduced, etc. I’ve learned I love to stockpile my meds. If he cannot sign off of it then I’ll go through the same telehealth doctor my daughter did.
