I'm an UberX driver. Uber is probably the way to go. UberX is about 40% cheaper than a taxi. Cars are usually Prius, Altima, maybe smaller hatchbacks. Cars nothing special. You could use Uber Black for town cars that have TCP numbers. They just announced Uber plus which is UberX but with luxury cars such as Lexus'. Check it out, they have fare estimates online. If you're worried about a car not being available (which should hardly be the case in this dense of an area, except maybe Laguna/Dana Point area) check the app around the time you would normally get a car. The app shows you how far a car is away. Just watch out for surge pricing. This is when more people are requesting rides than there are drivers. The price goes anywhere from 1.25X to 5.0x, usually happens Sat/Fri nights at bar closing or on holidays but I'm sure it might happen a bit during rush hour.
