Flights: flights.google.com Hotels: Booking.com; airbnb.com Both have maps features that show all available properties on a map.

If you’re looking for package deals, use one of the aggregators, like Expedia or Kayak or similar. Momondo used to be my go to for flights, but they’ve merged with Kayak now.

Depends on where you are flying from?

We stayed at the [Witt](http://www.wittistanbul.com) recently and it was fantastic. Walking distance to Taksim, not sure why you would want to make that your central point, as well as to the tram to take you to the central tourist location.

You can start looking up flights on Google Flights and Kayak. However, I believe only Turkish Airlines flies direct to Istanbul from Toronto, so look on its official website if you want to fly direct. Many websites offer hotel searches, but in my experiences, hotels.com is the most reliable for me. Airbnb is also a good alternative to hotels. Let me know if you have any questions about Istanbul! It's my favorite city in the world, second only to Venice.

I love Turkish airlines. Flying from Atlanta, they are the cheapest option and the best service I have ever experienced.

Start by looking at google flights, skyscanner etc for flights. Once you found the best flight for you then you can also try with travel agents directly and see if they have better deals. Look for hotels using trivago . I try to book my flight directly with the airline and hotel. They usually honor the deals. I went to Turkey for two weeks including Istanbul. I would also recommend Cappadocia.

Istanbul is an expensive place. A single female traveler with that kind of budget might not have the best time here. I would seriously consider the couch surfing alternative. I took a look at booking.com and the only thing available for that price is hostels.

35 lira wont really get her a hotel room.. she might want to try a hostel in the Taksim area http://www.worldhouseistanbul.com/rooms_prices.asphttp://www.chillouthostelistanbul.com/?Page=Fees

I have no answers for you, but you might want to try http://www.reddit.com/r/istanbul or http://www.reddit.com/r/turkey although neither of those seem to have much traffic. There's a good chance that http://www.reddit.com/r/travel would have some answers.

I worked at the Istanbul Hostel in Sultanhamet and they were generally as straight as anyone else in Istanbul. It was about 20 bucks in 06' so it might be a bit more now. What she really needs to work out is how to to get there from the airport, that's where you can really get ripped off.

Hi guys, looking to go to Istanbul end of April! Any ideas of good hotels people can recommend near the blue mosque?
Ali H. replied:
You didn't decide to Google this or try Trip Adviser??? Or just go to travel Republic and do a search based on distance from the desired location. Next time try High Wycombe under 50 IQ group.
Ali H. replied:
Oh I am sorry. May I recommend hotel Kebab or the budget option Hotel Donna Kebab they are amazing hotels within easy reach of the Blue mosque these hotels are so rare that you can't even find them on the whole of the tinternet and only a few of us on the Wycombe group know about them. Both hotels offer bed and breakfast with unlimited salad, chilli and mayonnaise (extra supplement for garlic mayo) unlimited wifi. The official agent for these hotels is David Taylor and he only excepts cash and his offices are behind the back of Desborough road opening times are between 7-11 pm Tuesdays to Saturdays. Room rates start at £50 a night or 4 sheep and Persian rug for the week. Hope this helps because the High Wycombe FB group is the world authority on everything however it does tend to specialise in smart phone repair and mobile police speed camera awareness. Toodaloo.......
