Cheaper hotels around Jasper? Hey everyone! Planning a little trip up to Jasper for the weekend (first time) and I know the hotels can be expensive. Is there a town near...
PeterH_605 replied:
The closest town with cheaper hotels would be Hinton just outside of the national park.
Armaak replied:
Honesty you should look at air BnB. I went last April and we paid 200 for a two night stay. That way you’re at least in the town and can just go for a stroll downtown.

https://www.stayinjasper.com/ We used this site to book a B&B in Jasper back in July. Pretty straight forward and right in the townsite. We walked to the pubs the couple nights we were there from where we stayed.

I can't recommend the [Black Cat Guest Ranch](http://www.blackcatguestranch.ca/) enough. It's peaceful, friendly, family-owned, and price-competitive with hotels. It's just outside the National Park (about an hour's drive to the Jasper townsite, and about a 25-minute drive to Hinton). The ranch has a huge common space and breakfast is served there, with 16 individual rooms for guests. It has Wifi, but no TV. Depending on your tastes this may be terrible or incredible. :)

If you look on any discount hotel site, some of the hotels there aren't even expensive. Malign Lodge and Tonquin Inn can often be booked at around $110 a night if you book in advance. Not sure how cheap you're looking for, but that's not exactly pricey for a hotel.
CardboardZebra replied:
Jasper is cheap in the winter. Summer is when the rates go up.

You should consider home accommodations. Actually located in the townsite, I believe it is cheaper, and I personally have never had a bad experience with one.
LovinMcJesus replied:
How fancy are you looking at? What about staying at a hostel? There are at least 4 or 5 in area. Everything from dorms to private rooms and usually under 35.00 a night. Ive stayed at Athabasca falls many times in my youth and while rustic, had some great times drinking wine and blazing a few round the bonfire out back. Oh to be 25 again....

I actually just booked a weekend in Jasper and chose Overlander Mountain Lodge just outside of the park. It's about 30 minutes from Jasper and was considerably cheaper than anything else

I'd be very surprised if there was ANY vacancy anywhere in Jasper right now (long weekend coming up) And if there were any, it'd be extremely expensive due to demand. I think regular rates in Jasper aren't excessive otherwise...
Visiting in August for the rodeo.
Any availability in any accommodations or hotels at that time?
Know how crazy it can get down there so just planning this well in...

Hey hi! I'm looking to come snowboarding in jasper on Tuesday !! Is the hills still any good? Is it worth a six hour drive for a day of riding!?...
Not buying or selling, but would like to know if anyone has stayed in a hotel either in Spruce Grove or Stony Plain. Could you tell me which one and your opinion on it?...
