Depending where you are: if you are anywhere near Ramat Eshkol, then the obvious choice is Pyup, off of Levi Eshkol. If you are near the shuk, then Mesameyach (spelling?) on Agrippas is where you should be heading. Near Emek Refayim? A small store called Shachar is on the main drag. Bruce Abrams mentioned a kiosk in the Malcha Mall where he got some good values. (I haven't been there. The other three I have; they are highly recommended.) Despite its name, The Jerusalem Wine Club is not in Jerusalem. Eli Poch has a store in Efrat and another new one elsewhere in the Gush. He does have a website and will deliver to Jerusalem. Any of the above have excellent selections of top shelf wines. If you need directions to any of these store, please ask.

Rami Levi is generally the cheapest, but due to sales, it varies from week to week. I knew someone who had a car with unlimited millage provided by a job who used to get the Friday papers and drive around from store to store buying sale items, but most people could not afford neither the money nor the time.

Sarah Kaye most likely it is!

With vouchers never done a price comparing but compared to where we live. We shop in Jerusalem where we find is 30-40 % cheaper. We shop at Osher Ad, Rami Levi ( the one on Kanfai Neshrim and the one sometimes in beitr) and the Kolell store called Shari Revcha. Prices for even basics changes based on the store and can be a shekel or two higher. We get dfiffrint products at dfiffrint stores

Sarah Kaye - the best time to get tavim is pre Rosh Hashana and Pesach when the discount is usually 16 or 17%. In shufersal Deal they still only give you 90% value - but it is a 7% saving for me. The change issue is not an issue because they are elec...See More

We also get the discounted voucher cards - and have done the math and read the articles. Tachlis - bottom line - Rami Levy. Period.

What I am actually trying to work out (as Helen above says) is that if I get 15% off at Shufersal and 4% off at Rami Levi BUT Shufersal (for example) is 8% more expensive - then it is worth it for me to always buy at shuferal vouchers as overall shopp...See More

It is certainly about time, both for crowdedness and for price!! Rami Levy, for example, has cheaper fruit and veg earlier in the week (to entice more people into their stores on those days).
Hi tea lovers! Just wanted to introduce you to www.shalvatea.com, a small herbal tea company that I created right here in Jerusalem selling local herbal tea blends. Selling now at several locations around Jerusalem, and also offer free delivery in town. Loose-leaf and teabags, whatever you prefer. Thanks :)

Gadi B. replied:
Change them to what? Assuming you mean to a more compact form, you can take them to the Bank of Israel, and they will convert them to bills ore larger denomination coins. You have to call ahead and make an appointment. You have to a bag with up to 500 coins, and each bag has to have only one type of coin. There is no commission. The number to call is 02-655-2847. They are open Sunday through Thursday from 8 am to 1 pm. http://www.boi.org.il/.../PublicEnquiries/Pages/Default.aspx
