Best chiropractic office? Are there any open on weekends or have late business day hours?
Cassandra B. replied:
Valley chiropractic is good.. I have been going to Dr. Tom for years.. I do believe he is open until 6 or 7, but he is really good about coming in early or staying late to accommodate your needs.

If you're into a more holistic health approach, I love Dr. Neary at Wellspring. He is so gentle and asks a lot of questions about your life and stress, not just your back pain
Ashli A. replied:
I *love* Alaska Health Options. I didn't have insurance for a long time and she will charge less if you're uninsured. Dr. Connors-Allan is great, doesn't do unnecessary work, and always works me in when I'm in pain.
Linda S. replied:
When we need an adjustment, we always go to Dr. Tom Gundelfinger in Jordan Creek. Very satisfied every time.
Beth M. replied:
Another vote for Dr Jen at Chiropractic First....but last I heard there was a many months long wait list to get in.

Dr. Messerschmidt has been our chiropractor for 15+ years. He is amazing! His son-in-law, Doug Jones worked with him for quite a while. I was scheduled to see Dr. M, but instead Dr. Jones walked in. He didn't even review my chart before meeting with me for the first time. He just asked why I was there! Really? 15 years and you don't even review my records? They scheduled me with him again and that time he walked in, looked at me and said "well, it doesn't look like you need an adjustment. I won't give you one unless you feel you need it."?? huh??? A couple of weeks later, again they scheduled me with him. He walked in, I said "oh, I thought I was going to see Dr. M". He asked if that was a problem and I told him it was. I left and rescheduled and requested they NEVER schedule me with him again. Next thing I know, he has his own practice. I will never, ever see him for any chiropractic care. Glad he works well for other folks, but definitely not me.
Linda S. replied:
If you need an adjustment when he's not open, Dr. Tom Gundelfinger will schedule when it's convenient for you, even if they're closed.
Sonja L. replied:
Dr Chavez at Arctic does manual and activator adjustments. His hours are great for people who work during the week. I was seeing a top notch in Seattle before moving to Juneau. Chavez ranks right up there. In addition, he has massage and a great PT in his office. His support staff are top notch too. However, he's starting to fill up too.
Amelia R. replied:
When I lived in the village, Dr. Tom Gundelfinger was very accommodating! If I came to down and never scheduled in advance, he would say come by in 30 minutes! I was satisfied every time! I even went to two other chiropractors, but always went back to Dr. Tom!

The twist works on most people. You have to tell any chiropractor if different methods are more effective. Dr Tom does need me to remind him now and then. Tell him to use the stretcher he uses on me.
Kristin B. replied:
Dr Gundelfinger is amazing!
Rebecca A. replied:
Dr Andrea Iverson downtown in the same bldg with City Ctr Chiro. She uses a directional non-force technique that is non-invasive and has been very effective for me. I've had three different issues I've seen her for and she's helped in only one or two treatments for each.
Kari R. replied:
Dr. Birger Baastrup at City Center Chiropractic.
Shatem C. replied:
Arctic Chiropractic did amazing for me! I had a bulging disk and they got me fixed up quicker than they thought they would! I have been to Gundelfinger and hated it there, treats you a bit like cattle just rushing through people not checking to see how adjustments feel 10 min appointments no heat no nothing.
Maressa J. replied:
I love Dr. Mell at Fireweed. Doesn't keep you coming back indefinitely, fantastic source for natural health tips. She does manual adjustments on my neck, but I'm pretty sure she asked about it at my first appointment (was when pregnant w/ my 7 yo, so memory is a little fuzzy) and can use other techniques if you prefer. I've always heard really good things about Dr. Jozwiak too, but she wasn't taking new patients when I first looked, and I've never had a reason to shop around again since I started seeing Dr. Mell.

Steve Messerschmidt at Aurora Chiropractic is THE best. Go see him! I go once or twice a year for a great adjustment - not weekly or a few times a week like I had to at my past chiropractor's office.

Cindy S. replied:
Steve Messerschmidt at Aurora Chiropractic or Doug Jones at Jones Chiropractic - both work with instruments as well as their hands and are both gentle and awesome. I highly recommend both of them!
Linda S. replied:
Dr. Tom Gundelfinger is really thorough and won't keep you coming back just for the sake of making $$$. He knows what he's doing. He does take insurance too. And if you can't come in during normal hours, he's willing to stay late/come in early to accommodate you.

I've had a lot of success with Arctic Chiropractic. I'm not sure as to their payment plans, as I have insurance, but it's definitely worth calling them and checking into it. They're open later in the evenings as well as on Saturday's.
