I don't know anything about preschools, but Brookside is the most family-friendly neighborhood on your list. Edit: I live in Brookside, so let me know if you have any questions about it. I don't have children, so I can't help with anything kid-related, but I should add that Brookside Park has a playground, and there are always kids around.

If you do end up in Brookside/Waldo, I know that Hale Cook and Border Star Montessori both have pre-K programs, starting at age 3. Tuition is income based, so you might be able qualify for subsidies. I believe they are full day, every day (unless you are in the Head Start program), but I imagine it wouldn't be a problem to send them less. I have some friends who sent their kids to Border Star pre-K and they all seemed to really like it. I also know someone who goes to Plaza Montessori which starts at infant and does have 3 day, half-day programs. Although, I'm not sure how much outdoor time they get, as I don't think they have a playground there.

I'm not sure where you're working, but you probably want to live near Red Bridge Elementary (in Center School District). So a bit south of Waldo. [District map](http://www.center.k12.mo.us/gen/center_generated_bin/documents/basic_module/JC-E.pdf) [All good houses](http://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/any_days/globalrelevanceex_sort/38.946293,-94.541173,38.893271,-94.629493_rect/13_zm/) Whomever did the building between Stateline and Holmes back in the 60 s really knew their stuff. We actually took our son to preschool over in KS. http://www.rollinghillskc.org/ It was a really nice place and he loved it.

I teach at a good little preschool just over the state line from Waldo/Brookside in Mission Hills, but unfortunately we start at 2.5 years and may have a waitlist at the time frame yours would be of age. But at least I can recommend some babysitters for date nights! ;P

Check out Prairie Early Childhood Center. It's in a Baptist church but the preschool is not religious. My daughter goes 3 half-days preparing for kindergarten. Very affordable and the staff/teachers have been there for some staggering collective number of years.
Looking for a few reccomendations: A pediatrician, a pediatric dentist, a GREAT preschool(NOT daycare) and a dance class for a 4yr old. Northland preferably.

We are looking into preschool options for Milania, but not many schools offer a summer program. Where does everyone send their kids in the summer???
JoMarie S. replied:
We don't send Sofia over the summer, but her Parent's Day Out program does have a summer program. Country Club Christian on Ward Parkway. They are accredited and AMAZING!

Pembroke Hill has an amazing summer program for kids age 2-high school. Plus you can pick the weeks that suite your family or all summer. They even have extended care options over the summer. All the information can be found on-line at Pembroke Hill.com under the summer program/info.
