Jennifer B. replied:
PLEASE send them to www.pawsitivealliance.org - I volunteer at PA and know they provide vouchers for free and low cost spay/neutering through vet offices and clinics they partner with. Just need to find one in their area (either Yakima or in Seattle). although I know that fixing a pet is not cheap through traditional vet offices, there are SO MANY resources these days available that offer discounted programs so "I can't afford it" is really no longer a viable excuse. It just means you're not spending the time and effort to LOOK for the places. They *are* out there!

I'm looking for a vet recommendation for my 2 year old dog. I've been going to Kenmore Vet Hospital but they won't give simple booster shots without an exam and I'd love...

Bothell Pet Hospital
Jennifer S. replied:
The reason they won't give boosters without an exam is because of a law. Canyon Park Vet Hospital got audited a few years ago and now have to give an exam too.
Wesley M. replied:
Maser's Grooming and Pet Boutique has Good Neighbor Vet a mobile Vaccine clinic that comes once a month, all they do are vaccines without charging for the exam and are very inexpensive. They are held in Maser's Parking lot the First Saturday of every month from 12:30 - 2:00. These are done by a licensed veterinary

I personally use Green Acres Animal Hospital on Niagara Falls Blvd, they have good hours, and are also Northtowns Emergency (same location, same staff) for emergencies. For the rescue we also use City Creatures on Delaware. She should do well at either place!
Anyone have a suggestion for a kind, straight forward vet clinic for a tooth extraction? Local place noticed a bad tooth during shots update and quoted $1k to pull it....
Seattle R. replied:
You could check with Companion Pet Clinic of Seattle in the U district.
Angie K. replied:
I go to Northeast Veterinary Hospital in Wedgwood. I have never had to have them do a tooth extraction, but I think in general they are pretty affordable.
Can anyone recommend a inexpensive vet for a teeth cleaning for our Chihuahua? Thanks!
Jesika J. replied:
What is inexpensive for you? Inexpensive is so different for everyone. My senior dog had a cleaning at Iglemoor Animal Hospital for less than $300 (with bloodwork it was around $400) & I didn't find that to be outrageous as I've seen quotes for up to $700 (including bloodwork) from other vets. There's My Pet's Vet in the Rose Hill area on 85th in Kirkland & I know they do cheap dentals, but I'm not sure how cheap or how good of a job they do. Beware of anesthesia-free cleanings, they do not polish the dogs teeth which means there are possible abrasions which can lead to tooth decay. They also can't clean under the gums so tartar & plaque will build up faster.
Heliana S. replied:
Inglemoor Hospital has always been awesome to my dog and they were around $300-$350 blood work included. She passed away a year ago, but never had any tooth problems in her 14 years of living.

Seattle R. replied:
Cats being thrown from cars is a far too common trend these days. We don't have a rescue in Texas but there HAS to be good people there willing to help. Start Google searching.
