Erika P. replied:
::butting in:: I stopped by Kennesaw Pediatrics to get some info as I am having a baby too, and they said they do an "alternative" vaccination schedule. Anyone experienced that?
Erika P. replied:
Oh, I have zero interest in an alternative schedule. It's nonsense, Dr. Sears came out and admitted there is zero evidence for it, and that he made it up to sell books. I was appalled that a pediatrician's office would not only advocate for it, but have it be standard part of their practice. The receptionist told me they do it for everyone?
Kimberly U. replied:
Kennesaw Pediatrics!
Kim E. replied:
Northside Pediatrics in Town Lake. Dr. Green and Dr. Hardin are awesome. They see them until they are 22 years old.

Erika P. replied:
So Kennesaw Pediatrics is affiliated with CHOA? Apparently they need to retrain their staff, because the same receptionist that told me they only do an alternative vax schedule also told me the only hospital they visit is Kennestone.
Erika K. replied:
Erika Herrera Prestwich, we have used CHOA on Busbee and Scottish Rite downtown for an emergency through Kennesaw Pediatrics.
Erika P. replied:
Thanks for the clarification. I immediately ditched the thought of using them due to the vax/hospital thing. KP is way more geographically convenient, but East Cobb Pediatrics has a newborn specialist/lactation consultant on staff. Decisions decisions.
Rebecca G. replied:
Just checked the website they have 3http://www.kennesawpediatrics.com/?mobile=1#Also depending on when you're due they are very involved in community events. I'm not sure if there's any events before the Christmas parade but you can always go to the events to see how they are

Lenise, We love Kennesaw Pediatrics ..... They are open 7 days a week for sick appointments. We use the Dr. Sears vaccination schedule. They have the Dr. Sears schedule in their system so we don't have to bring it in every time. They have complimentary valet service .... So when you need to get in to the office with a sick little one .... just pull up and they park the car for you. We have seen Dr. Breana Brugner, and Dr. Long ( who is the owner and has limited appointments ) We <3 Kennesaw Pediatrics .... http://www.kennesawpediatrics.com/index.php/our-office/group-2/location-and-hours/
Hello! We recently moved to Atlanta (Marietta) from Los Angeles. My daughter is 14 months old and still breastfeeds like a champ
Kayla R. replied:
Dr Strauss at kennesaw peds does! I was pregnant with number 2 and went on a tour with my toddler. She was 20 months at the time. The other moms there were first time moms and he asked if I breastfed or if I still was without batting an eyelash. I love him. I am tandem nursing now and he fully supports it
Ana J. replied:
It can also depend on what Dr you see at PAMPA- some of them are less than supportive of truly educated patents. We loved Dr Morgan- but wouldn't see any of the others. He knew that I was nursing until... Well she went for 4 years.
Reina G. replied:
Oh, that's great to know, Ana Johnson! We saw Dr. Smail, and she was really great until the very end when she kept insisting that we needed to introduce cow's milk. I had high hopes because she was talking about the new research of introducing high-allergen foods earlier, so I thought she was more "modern" and up-to-date than some of the more "old-school" pediatricians we've encountered in the past. Maybe I'll get an appt with Dr. Morgan for her 15-month appt and then see if I feel the need to switch practices. Thanks again for this!
Carly D. replied:
Dr. Pitts at Kennesaw Pediatrics loves normal term breastfeeding.
Erin M. replied:
We love Dr. Seth at Kennesaw Peds. but have seen quite a few of their doctors who have all been lovely. I'm still nursing my 13 mo, and Dr. Seth has been nothing but supportive (she's currently pregnant too).
Dessie L. replied:
We love Dr. Winters-Smith at Kennesaw Pediatrics. They are great with supporting alternate vax schedules, too, if that is a concern.
We see doctor Heaven at Woodstock Pediatrics. While my son is only 10 months old, she's made positive comments regarding extended breastfeeding. At his 9 month appointment she told me to keep nursing as long as we both desired it and she said to continue nursing him when he wakes at night (which I know some peds discourage for whatever reason). She's been incredibly supportive of our nursing relationship.
Reina G. replied:
Thank you, Ashleigh Blythe Stewart! I actually went to a consult with Woodstock Pediatrics when we were staying with my sister-in-law when we first moved to town. We met with Dr. Bear, but she didn't really seem to show much enthusiasm when I mentioned extended breastfeeding. Maybe I'll give Dr. Heaven a try!
Ashleigh S. replied:
I've only ever seen Dr. Heaven so I can't speak for the other doctors. But I've been very happy so far. She's always been supportive of breastfeeding (even through severe jaundice and slow weight gain). She definitely seems supportive of it and I'm hoping that support will continue once we are actually extended breastfeeding and not just talking about it.
Jenny S. replied:
I also recommend Dr. Heaven! We sadly had to stop visiting her office due to their vaccination policy, but I truly loved her and her holistic approach to everything!
Tara J. replied:
We go to Cartersville pediatrics in Acworth. They never gave me a hard time when I said I was still nursing at 12 months - they did ask if he was drinking water from a straw/sippy cup and that he was eating solid foods too. (We did stop at 13 months though as I was pregnant with #2 and wanted a little break lol) Honestly, I don't see why they need to judge or "have a say" in what you provide your baby to drink - that's a different issue though. Good luck finding a doc that works for ya'll ;)
I know I've asked this before, but I need a really good pediatrician recommendation! Really do not care for our current pediatricians new "office policies" & haven't...
Sunny P. replied:

Hannah P. replied:
NORTHSIDE PEDIACTRICS!! Dr. Marcus is who I saw growing up and I left her care kicking and screaming because I'm too old to see her now. She's awesome and is extremely caring and smart!
Jessica M. replied:
I'm with you Sarah. We have been with Kennesaw Pediatrics since they first opened their doors. We were one of their first patients and we literally walked in, got some personal good ole' southern sweet tea style service and walked out. Now it's a slooooooow impersonal Disney line (without the fun ride at the end). I don't blame you for wanting to leave there. I'm looking for a new place too. So if you find something great, please let me know
Sunny P. replied:
Please go to Kenmar Pediatrics! They are phenomenal! Dr. McGee or Dr. Greene! We used to see Dr. Dixon (Dr. Greenes husband) but he is teaching at egleston! Good ol fashioned care and all the nurses and doctors know us by name!

Dr. Kim at Pediatrics at Brookstone (and Jennifer, a PA). Dr. Kim was amazing when Grace went through all of her seizures at 5 months old, and really went above and beyond to give her (and us) loving care. He also spends fovever with you at well check ups (we've spent 30-45 minutes with him almost every time), and doesn't make you feel rushed.
